"Well, it's a marvelous night for a Moondance
With the stars up above in your eyes
A fantabulous night to make romance
'Neath the cover of October skies
And all the leaves on the trees are falling
To the sound of the breezes that blow
And I'm trying to please to the calling
Of your heart-strings that play soft and low
And all the night's magic seems to whisper and hush
And all the soft moonlight seems to shine in your blush."
- Van Morrison, 'Moondance '

The October moon glows as it falls in the western sky in the blue hour before sunrise ......
Thanks for the visit .....wishing you a happy week :-)
Now that we have experienced Spring & Summer it is time for the Autumn change in the forest of the tall and mighty !
Pushing on that trigger is like pulling magic into my very soul...Darrell.
Have a safe and exciting day dear Flickr friends !
Mist evaporating from the lake softened the glassy reflections on this lovely morning...I wish I lived across from this view! (not today...more form the archives)...for Michael who is coming to Nova Scotia in October. On Explore July 22/o8 @ 162 (still there Aug. 17 at #498 says Scout) (Taken in October 2007)

A clear evening and a bright full moon - one of those autumn treats!
This one taken at Lost Lagoon in Stanley Park
The last days of October 2021: a beautiful sunrise with thousands of cranes, geese - and a cup of coffee

Last year I had so many varieties of Cosmos, my garden was full of beauty. Cosmos are one of my favourite flowers. This year though, hardly any, I think you get good and bad years in all plants, whether vegetable or flower.
Yesterday, as I walking through the garden, there was a small cluster of Cosmos. Literally appeared over a few days. The flower heads are sensational.
I took this image with my Lensbaby Velvet and then played with processing in Topaz. I need to use Topaz a bit more, but I find the images a little unreal sometimes, I prefer as little interference with my images as possible. Anyway, this is my result. I'm unsure what I think of my processing as I'm not a great processer. Opinions and thoughts welcomed.
I'm off to make a hot drink and take some medication..... worryingly, I have woken up rather poorly. Sore throat, cough, aches and pains and feeling really crappy. Hoping its just a winter virus and not COVID. I've had all my COVID and FLU jabs and up to date, so hoping I just get mild symptoms...

I took this photo on a walk in the woods at Monrepos on Friday. The forests are still quite green apart from a few golden leaves here and there.
The owner of these roses has the greenest fingers I've ever known of. His roses are just amazing.
Better viewed large and thank you for your favourites.
"Nature gives to every time and season some beauties of its own." (Charles Dickens)
These unusually blue berries belong to some kind of cornus (another image is here).
Have a wonderful Thursday.

I created a new group called Notice the Autumn / Fall. If you want, please join me :)
With humid warm weather rolling into our region yesterday the conditions were ideal for some early autumn fog. This is a shot taken along the Thames river beneath the historic Blackfriars bridge which was recently reinstalled after being removed for restoration work.
Thanks for viewing and Happy Thanksgiving to my Canadian friends!

Early morning low cloud soon dispersed.
October thunderstorm with vibrant colors and textures. Remastered and cropped.
Elevated storms were riding along an upper level jet
ahead of a warm front. Trapped low level smog made the sky appear orange. Was photographing the more distant storm when a new one developed on top of me. I got lucky and got
3 shots with close and distant lightning.
