'Untitled Sound Objects' is a series of works by Pe Lang and Zimoun in which the artists explore the properties of sound, materials, resonance and generative systems. In the piece,
vibrating motors cause glass plates to oscillate. Various kinds of materials and objects are placed on these plates and generate sounds which are processed and amplified. The fragility
and complexity of the resulting sound architecture resonates with the elegance and smart simplicity of their instrument. For the development of their music Pe Lang and Zimoun have a
great interest in how sound can be shaped, how space can be engineered, and how new dynamics and tone colours can be produced in a combination of digital and electroacoustical
techniques.
Untitled Sound Objects ist eine Reihe von Arbeiten in denen Pe Lang und Zimoun die Eigenschaften von Klang, Materialien, Resonanzen und generativen Systemen erkunden. Vibrierende Motoren versetzen Glasplatten in Schwingung.
This Armenian Pot is dated 1896. It is a metre tall. And just to fend off the questions... I don't know if there is anything inside it, with its stand it is 1.6 metres off the ground, which is taller than me. ;o)
If want to see it in its entirety, you can see it here on the left hand side...

(October 2022 – February 2023)
Delve into the dreamlike relationship between Surrealism and design in this century spanning celebration of Surrealist objects of desire.
Curated with Vitra Design Museum, the exhibition explores design from the birth of surrealism in 1924 to the current day; spanning classic Surrealist works of art and design as well as contemporary Surrealist responses.
The exhibition uncovers how one of the 20th century's most influential movements came to impact design through its questioning of the conventional and its commitment to exploring the mind, unconscious and mystical.
It brings together the best in Surrealist design, from furniture, interior design, fashion, photography and world-renowned artworks from Surrealist pioneers such as Salvador Dalí, Dora Maar, Man Ray, Leonora Carrington and Lee Miller, through to contemporary artists and designs, such as Schiaparelli, Dior, Björk.
The result is an exhibition filled with playful, curious and poetic objects that uncover the rich history of Surrealism and its fascinating influence on design.
