This past March, Object Design League acted as host for the first time, presenting Third Space, a collaborative, exchange-based project by students at Emily Carr University and The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. The students traded open-ended instructions with the goal of constructing a space somewhere between home and work.
Catholic parish church of the Assumption and cemetery
Object ID: 69802, Village square
Cadastral Community: Pfaffenhofen. Over an early Christian church was in the 14th/15th century a late Gothic building built which was remodelled into the Baroque style in the 18th century. In 1860/1863 the church was extended and regothicised according to plans by August Essenwein and Josef von Stadl. The single-aisled building with a steep saddle roof, a two-bay choir and a three-sided choir closure has a Gothic arrangement in the form of triangular pilaster strips and a surrounding cornice on the nave and choir. The west façade shows a steep, at the base stepped gable facade and a ogival tongued portal. At the sacristy there is a mural Resurrection of Christ and Last Judgment by Leopold Puellacher from 1826. The interior is structured with pilasters and has in the nave a lunette cap barrel articulated by barrel vaults, in the choir a stellar ribbed vault with late Gothic wall and tendril painting.
