Over-processed clouds using ArtCard and PhotoGrid for effects adding color and Northern Lights to our Southern sky. 💜💙
One of my pet hates on Flickr is seeing images that have been so 'over processed' that they no longer resemble the environment or subject they depict, with the exception of 'Arty' shots, and shots that may need to be enhanced to bring out fine details, so a subject can be correctly identified. Of course, the other exception is... when I do it. :@)
Iridescent clouds are caused by especially tiny ice crystals or water droplets in the air. Sky in New Mexico, USA.

I used the Glowing Edges Filter on this image - so diff from the original which I will post too, for those of you who would like to see the original! HSoS
Had a bit of fun with this theme! I’m not usually into messing around with the image too much but rather enjoyed producing a couple of quite interesting effects. Chose this one eventually for submission into the ‘Looking close......on Friday’ group, with the theme of ‘Fruits(Over processed picture).
Wie kommt denn mein Mann Rudi auf dieses Graffiti ?! 😊
How did my husband Rudi come up with this graffiti?! 😊
And just as it looked like this stream was becoming B&W only...
I discovered this, half-processed, among old files. I think I must have given up on it because the processing I'd done pulled out too much noise and the regular Darktable noise-reduction algorithms were smearing things too much. Could have worked as is, and was fine and subtle, but I'm under curfew until Monday...
My fast-becoming-standard over-processing: iterated anisotropic filter (G'MIC dream filter) 'tuned' at the cost of about 4-5 minutes a try, then deconvolution sharpening, then other toys like curves, wavelet contrast enhancement etc.
The subject is a bunch of semi-standing waves in a park fountain/pool under very mixed light (natural, several kinds of artificial) close to dusk. Long-ish exposure. I remember hand-holding with my elbows planted on the pool's edge.
This is one of the most confounding road signs. It seems to say, yes, you have come to a stop in your journey; no, you cannot make forward progress; you can choose to go right; but a diametrically opposed choice is also viable; whichever direction you go, you could run headlong into a fast moving obstacle … In the meantime, enjoy the clouds
This is from the archive using my old point & shoot I have resisted over processing - it's so tempting with Light Room !!
f/4.5
7.8 mm
1/280
ISO 160
No PL filter
What fun to slightly amp up this sunset as viewed from our beach to an over-processed state. Colors and rays of light were so beautiful, but not quite this vibrant.
Looking Close... on Friday!!!
Frutas (imagen sobreprocesada)/Fruits (over-processed picture) - 26 March
Uses the technique of painting because I love still lifes and perhaps I once use it to decorate my dining room, this technique of textures needs diversity of color and that objects have their textures in different directions, the base wood has it vertical slightly diagonal is brown, the apple is red and circular , the for goes all in a spiral to the center and in the back there were books so I use a sculpture that I have and I put it horizontal To make the horizontal lines and balance with the green color, use the light on the right side to create some shadow diagonally and I gave the flashlight of my phone some light to the flower so that it does not lose its prominence And it causes a beautiful reflection effect with colors on the wood, you have to put some wood wax to shine :D.
PD: He chose the apple for its strange v-shaped center
This one was a bit of a surprise for me in post. I wasn't expecting uniform streaking to be brought out by over-processing. I usually see these things when I use my regular MF set up and focus with high magnification, but I used an AF lens for this.
Hopefully, you won’t recognise this and say ‘Oh, no. Surely not another one…’
Yep. It’s another bit of fun on the beach at Skiathos early in May. It’s the same technique at play; it’s the same subject (the beach loungers).
It’s an in-camera multiple exposure but this time using Darken blend mode. It comprises two ICMs, one with a horizontal swipe and the other a vertical one. The blend mode has created a black grid of lines which I rather liked.
I over-processed it for Sliders Sunday today just using adjustments in Affinity: sharpening, tonal correction and, to create the bizarre colours, using an HSL adjustment layer to change the hues of several of the ranges of existing colours. The result was granular in parts because of the HSL colour selection, so I just ran through the result with Topaz DeNoise AI. Lastly, I added a slight dark vignette.
Thanks for taking the time to look. I hope you enjoy the image. Happy 100x and Sliders Sunday :)
A composite I made up of my own photos and texture just because I can, and then over processed with photoshop and Topaz Studio.
The bird I used is already on my photostream, see picture in the first comment

HBM!
I found this bench while hiking over at Balcones Canyon and Wildlife Preserve. It's just barley a bench..;) I had a little too much free time yesterday and may have over processed it a bit. Oh well, hope your week goes well.
Jager frolicking in the field caught the eye of this guy.
Luckily, Jager never noticed.
I finally joined the Lightroom club after years of playing with other programs. Hate the idea of monthly payments but after losing some backups it might be worth it combined with the storage aspect.
Might be a little over processed but it was my first try. I may redo this once I get familiar with some of the powerful features.
Met up with Steve and Gary for more Nightjarin' on the Mendip hills. Wonderful to have both birds on the wing flying really close... I just couldn't lock on in the gloom, but we were blessed with another 'lucky' stick landing.
Handheld with stupid setting for the conditions. And then well over-processed. :@]
…and a chorus of clouds…
For today’s SoS group theme “over processed clouds”, I sharpened the haze and upped the contrast.
I take so many photos of clouds, and chose this evening sky capture for something different. The moon is June’s “Strawberry Supermoon” (actually a couple of days before its peak-illumination, full phase.)
Just a quick post today… Happy weekend flickr friends! I am chipping away at my ambitious to-do list, and look forward to checking in on your posts soon :-)))
There's a Lady Beetle looking over the bananas!
