Emmy & Muffin. I didn't want to over-process because I thought this photo was adorable just as it was.
I was challenged to a "over processing" one-on-one contest the other day, having very little time because of work and family I didn't give the challenge the respect it deserved. Never the less I somehow managed to win! Click here to see the editing stages of the photo. As you can see this was a very uninteresting photo to begin with, but with some extreme editing it became somewhat good :) Plus, it's a nice break from all the cheesy aurora photos! ;-)
Bit over-processed perhaps but quite like the bluey tones. Lighting wasn't as brilliant as the others, sun was there but obscured by clouds.
Shot on a 5D Mark II with Sigma 30mm and then cropped in to remove vignette.
So the other day I did a nerd picture. Well today the nerd came off! LOL. Well this photo is probably a bit over processed. I kinda like it all except for that huge blown highlight on the top right photo on my head! Could have been fixed by adjusting my third light but oh well. I have been playing with this photo for a while and its late and I want to get to bed. This was processed using a similar technique that Joel Grimes explains in his tutorials he sells on his website. I have to get up in a few hours! Ohhhh, tomorrow is not going to be fun. I am going to be so tired. My fault though.

This photograph was over processed.
Almost 11,000 Irish and 4,500 international competitors - representing 62 nationalities - took part in the event. Alemu Gemechu of Ethiopia won the marathon, with a time of two hours and 14 minutes. Nataliya Lehonkova from Ukraine won the women's race in a time of two hours and 31 minutes. Patrick Monahan from Naas, Co Kildare, won the wheelchair race, with a time of one hour and 43 minutes.
Every year I try to photograph the Dublin Marathon and this year was no different. However, things did not go according to plan. First thing that happened was that I lost my flash cards and then I discovered that I had brought the wrong lens so I had to shoot in cropped mode. But worst of all I arrived too late to photograph the winner.
Due to a lack of time and resources I will not devote any time to identifying the runners featured in my photographs. I may do so at a later date.
LANDON'S NEW HAIR... THIS WAS A TOTAL MAKEOVER. I DID LOWLIGHTS WITH 6N AND AN ALL OVER TONER OF 09NB. THEN I DID THE COPPOLA KERATIN BLOWOUT TO REPAIR AND SMOOTH HER HAIR THAT HAD BEEN DAMAGED FROM OVER PROCESSING. IT TURNED OUT GORGEOUS!!

All around me are familiar faces
Worn out places, worn out faces
Bright and early for the daily races
Going nowhere, going nowhere
Their tears are filling up their glasses
No expression, no expression
Hide my head I wanna drown my sorrow
No tomorrow, no tomorrow
And I find it kind of funny, I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I'm dying are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you, I find it hard to take
When people run in circles its a very, very
Mad world, mad world

This Video starts with Angie's younger sister and brother running then Angie in her bikini on the car! This was taken by her friend that she was hanging out with while her husband was in Thule Greenland and I was in Shemya AK. It is old and over processed but I still thought it was fun! Who has a video of their wife dancing on a car!!! LOL At this time Angie's sister and brother were 14 and 10 and Angie was approaching the ripe old age of 19

An attempt at over-processing a picture - on purpose.
Not overly processed this time - just trying to get a shiny bronze.
Many of my works - like this one - are produced entirely digitally. I sometimes re-use older works as art elements and also drawing objects - usually rectangles. These are combined together using Serif PagePlus X3.
Next I mesh warp the image and finally photographically over process the image with Paint Shop Pro.
The image on the left looks over-processed and too unnatural to accept. Too much shadow has been removed and the image now appears flat.
The image on the right has more natural contrast, color, shadows and highlights.
Quick Tip:
Avoid overuse of Shadow/Highlight sliders in Photoshop and Lightroom — this can cause images to look flat and unnatural.

Over processed? Thanks, yeah I know, that was the point. This photo was originally underexposed and the sparks were barely visible. Not sure what went wrong. I gave myself a challenge to see what I could get from the original POS image.
I'm happy. Saved the shot (kinda). It was my friend, Doug's idea so I kinda felt obligated to make it work. Got the look I was going for, epic, hell, fire, sparks, dungeons. Who wouldn't like that? Just need a dragon and this would be perfect.
It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

I think I might have over-processed this one but it was fun and I wanted to try some new things... ;D
Don't get me wrong, Disney provides everyone the chance to feel like a kid, no matter what age or state you're currently at in life.
But, I believe there are certain locations and viewpoints that make you feel like you're really staring at some of the wonders of the Kingdom for the first time all over again. That's what I attempted with this shot/angle.
Cinderella's Castle is quite the epic construction, and this vantage point is one of my favorite places to just stop and look, feel like a kid again, then run around like a 5 year old that's had one too many Mickey lollipops in one sitting! (Or maybe grab a turkey leg, both are fun!).
This shot was treated with some minor HDR work to just pull out some of the detail of the castle. I didn't want to blow it out, or over process it so I was careful in how I treated it. Let me know what you think.
Yes, a bit over processed but the image I had to start with wasn't so great so I decided to play with a vintage action.
This was a long exposure (1.6 seconds) so that is why the earring is blurred.
Never imagined a nightscape here, but it actually looks fairly good. Photo looks a little over-processed, though. May be good for Happy Sliders Sunday.

Sometimes I like to take pictures of flowers and over process them because I'm bored.

I know this looks over processed! It was REALLY dark and by the time I got the airplane looking about right, the sky was golden. Well, ok, I can live with that. I believe this is an ERJ 190-200SU (ERJ 190)
One thing I love about this spot and this light is that you can see into the cockpit...

I had an idea today and when I got home from work, experimented with my iPhone. Unfortunately, the experiment didn't work out like I thought it would.
This was the Plan B shot since the ingredients for chili were calling my name and I had to get started.
My vegan chili turned out absolutely fantastic! And I added a secret ingredient shared with me by a good, chili-lovin' friend. It was a lot of work, but totally worth all the chopping!
Have a good night and a great day tomorrow!!

Although this might seem over-processed most of the effect was done in the camera using a very slow shutter speed and staggered rates of zoom movement, it's just that the spherical form in my eyes was the best way to portray it. !!!

2013-08-30: The Milwaukee County Zoo has a pair of Tayra's inside their small mammal building. However, the back of the exhibit is open glass which on sunny days makes extreme contrast ratios between their dark exhibit. Tayra's are always constantly moving around their exhibit and so it really makes for a challenging photo shoot. Perhaps I over processed this one using most of the Nik software packages and basic layering options to top it off. I hope everyone has a fantastic, safe weekend!

Another photo taken at the Weltevrede Lion park, we were allowed to go into the cage with the Cheetah called Juba, and interact with him, the photo maybe a bit over processed for some, but I like the difference patterns on his fur that is brought out by the b&w processing.
Rework of previous data from Jan 2021. Less 'over-processed' as some would say.
Comments welcomed, Ed.

A bit over processed as I had to shoot this quickly as I did it freehand, but the quality of the picture isn't the point here.... A Halo moon, how cool! will be a few years before we see this again!
I often have a camera with me on my way home from work.... I've taken many photos from this exact spot - a long red light as I turn for home. Looking at this after uploading to flickr, I think it's a bit over-processes in Lightroom. I've been using a HDR Effect preset and in this case I used too much. maybe
over expuzzled on purpose. i am fond of black and white over processed, or with high contrast.
the idea just popped into my head. i had see a friends picture where he did a similar thing with the whole "see through" object but i took it to a different level. i didnt do the best job editing in some parts but its whatever. what do you think?

Looks a bit over processed doesn't it, almost artificial. Well, I did it on purpose to illustrate what I'd like to call "The Inconvenient Truth" about flickr !!!
Think about what made you visit this shot [this is for folks who, ahem...., don't visit my stream regularly ;)] On your contacts page or in a group where you usually post you noticed a 75x75 version of this shot among 100s of other tiny thumbnails.
Now, ask yourself, "Why did you notice it?".
Well I think it's because fire toned sunset shots with silhouettes always stand out among a bunch of thumbnails of natural looking shots. This 75x75 picture looks very different (almost artificial) to others surrounding it and your mind picks up this anomaly. You notice it due to the way I have "over-processed" it.
If you disagree to my claim and feel that the shot is genuinely good, then ask yourself this, "Would you have visited this shot, had you seen only the 75x75 thumbnail of the SOOC version of this shot?". (See flickr comment below).
Now that doesn't mean that only over processed shots get noticed on flickr, of course not. But shots that do get noticed always look good in 75x75. Don't believe me, then look at some of your shots that have done really well. I mean you have got lots and lots of comments/favs from people whose posts you hardly visit or whom you don't even "know". Compare the 75x75 thumbnails of those pics with those of shots that you felt looked very good when viewed large but didn't get the kind of attention that it deserved. See what I mean.
This is true of any service (like facebook) where the first thing your friend/contact sees of a picture is a small thumbnail version of a shot. I feel that it's cruel that a picture gets judged that way, but that's the way the world works.
Well folks that IMHO is the inconvenient truth about flickr.

Ferrara's has got to be the best bakery in Little Italy! Everything is handmade and very fresh! The lines are usually long, but the wait is worth it! My favorite is their homemade gelato.
This is a bit over processed, even for me, but I kind of like how it came out. About a minute later, the clouds let loose with pouring rain and I quickly ran under the awning so the camera would not get wet. That effectively ended taking pictures for the day but at least I ended on a high note.
This is a 3 shot HDR image, done with Photomatix and then run through Photoshop.
