Built in 1964 for the RAF as a T4 serial XS228 and entered service on 03Jul64. To BAC in 1967 and converted to a T52 for the South Arabian Air Force serial 104. Sold on to the Singapore Air Force serial 352. SOC in 1980. It entered the UK civil register on 13Dec83 as G-PROV.

Built in the USA in 1989 and delivered to the Swiss register as HB-PML. Transferred to the UK register as G-CCYY on 17Jun04.

Based at Fairoaks.

Home built in the UK in 2003 and registered G-OKIM on 23Dec03.

Registered as G-CIJV on 27May14. Built in 1940 it served with the Belgian Air Force as U-88, the Spanish Air Force as ES.1-16. To the civil register as HB-MIZ, HB-MKL and N35133.

 

Flown in fake Luftwaffe markings.

Hawker Sea Fury Mk.II (G-CBEL)

This Sea Fury, construction number 37539 was produced by Hawker’s as a Fury ISS – Iraqi Single Seat for the Iraqi Air Force, as part of contract number 53/1/012 for 60 aircraft, and was numbered 315 within this production batch. The aircraft was bought to Orlando, Florida, USA from Iraq in 1979 by Ed Jurist and David C Tallichet. In 1989 the aircraft passed to Laws/Coleman Warbird Museum, Coleman, Texas where it was rebuilt to airworthy condition, before flying again in April 1991, registered as N36SF. The Fury was then shipped to the UK in September 1991, passing into the ownership of John Bradshaw at Wroughton until 2009. During this time the aircraft flew in the markings of a Dutch Navy and latterly Royal Australian Navy aircraft marked as 361 and on the UK Civil Register as G-CBEL. She was then exported to Australia where she was registered as VH-SFW. She was imported back into the UK by her new owners, Anglia Aircraft Restorations Ltd. she was re-registered again as G-CBEL. The aircraft has been refurbished and repainted, by Air Leasing Ltd, in the colours of one of Hawker’s Sea Fury prototypes coded SR661, which was a modified Fury Mk.II with a tail hook fitted, but without the folding wings included on subsequent production Sea Fury’s. The aircraft is currently based at North Weald Airfield, Essex, UK.

Built in Poland in 1972 and registered in the UK on 06Jul72 as G-AZYJ. Re-registered to G-WILG on 15Apr97.

Built in the USA in 1946 and registered NC88419 then N88419. Transferred to the UK register as G-BSFD on 25May90.

Just arrived on runway 08 left and taxiing to the war bird hangars.

 

Built by Gloster Aircraft in 1939 and first flew on or around 20Oct39 as P2902. Delivered to 245 Squadron (code DX) and based at Drem on the East Coast of Scotland. Deployed south during the evacuation of Dunkirk in 1940 it crash landed on the beach near Dunkirk. It was recovered from the sands in 1988 and brought back to the UK for restoration before her maiden flight on 19Jun17.

 

First registered as G-ROBT back on 19Sep94.

Built in the USA in 1960 and registered as N3667Z. Sold to the UK on 08Sep60 as G-ARFD.

Operated by locally based 2 Excel Aviation on surveillance duties. It has a turret under the nose that can house cameras and sensors.

 

Built in 1970 and delivered to Norway as LN-RTJ. On to Denmark as OY-DVH. Back to Norway this time as LN-NPE. To the UK register on 21Dec77 as G-BFIB.

Built in the USA in 1946 and registered NC76068 then N76068. Transferred to the UK register as G-BRXH on 25Jan90.

A 1994 built Yak, I assume an original rather than a replica as it is Yak built.

In Russian Air Force Normandie-Niemen markings.

 

Formerly registered in Germany as D-FLAK it entered the UK register as G-OLEG on 26Nov15.

Built in the USA in 1978 and registered N714VC. Transferred to the UK register as G-BNUT on 26Aug87. Operated by the Stapleford Flying Club.

Built in 1997. Registered as G-BXTS 10Mar98. Imported from the USA where it was registered N638DA.

It stay for about an hour on an executive charter.

 

Built in the USA in 2003 and registered N6129N on 11Sep03. Delivered to the RAF at Cranwell for use as a navigation trainer by 45 Squadron and registered as G-RAFJ on 12Dec03. Given a military serial ZK450 0n 05Jan06. Retired from military service and registered back to G-RAFJ on 19Feb14. Reregistered to G-CIFE on 07Apr14.

Built in the USA in 1979 and registered N2831A. Transferred to the German register as D-EEGU. Transferred to the UK register as G-EEGU on 07May02.

Home built in the UK and completed in 2005. Registered G-CDIJ on 03Mar05.

Now repainted in its original 257 (Burma) Squadron colour scheme. This is the only fully complete F2 in the world.

 

Built by Armstrong-Whitworths in Coventry in 1953/54. WN904 was the 17th of 45 F.Mk.2 Hunters built for the RAF and delivered to 257 (Burma) Squadron at RAF Wattisham in Suffolk on 13Sep54 coded Q. Her service career was short as she overshot the runway at RAF Kenley in Jan56 and suffered Cat.4 damage. By the time the damage had been repaired 257 Sqn had converted to the more capable F.Mk.5 and then disbanded in Mar57.

 

SOC on 22Nov57 and used as a ground instruction airframe until 1974 when she went to the IWM at Duxford for display. In 1989 she went to Waterbeach Barracks as a gate guard. In 2012 the barracks closed and she moved to the museum at Sywell. Until 2019 she had carried fake 56 squadron markings but it had always been the museums goal to restore her to her original markings and what a great job they have done !
