Of Faith, Power, and Glory: October 13-18, 2011
In Of Faith, Power, and Glory, the sixth and final exhibition of Baang and Burne Contemporary's six-week art event, titled "6x6", the gallery juxtaposes photographs of Russia of a by-gone era with
strikingly painted portraits of dictators and tyrants inspired by present day "bad guys" of contemporary society.
Pictures of the Fort Wadsworth Light & the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge from on board the Celebrity Summit at the end of our ten-day cruise. The Fort Wadsworth Light is tacked onto the fort of the same name - right underneath the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge. I was able to see a number of lighthouses in New York Harbor this trip. On board the Royal Caribbean Anthem of the Seas for the Seven Night Labadee & Puerto Plata Cruise (November 6th through 13th, 2022). The cruise embarks from Cape Liberty (Bayonne, NJ) with stops at Labadee, Haiti and Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic before heading back to New York City. The itinerary changed after Hurricane Nicole canceled our planned stops.

Heading south from Ganta, the second of our two vehicles (I was in the first minibus) hit a cow that jumped into the road in the moment after we had passed. The cow was unfortunately killed and the minibus seriously damaged, a window spraying glass shards onto two of the passengers (who had fortunately been facing the other way). Motorists stopped and expressed opinions. Lengthy negotiations followed at the local police station in Gbarnga, replacing our original plan, of a hike to a waterfall. We paid for the cow but, not hugely keen to strap it to the roof of our minibus and not coincidentally carrying barbecue equipment, we donated it to the police. Bon appetit.

Photographs from the first Hardy Half Marathon which started from Dorchester Rugby Club. The route went through beautiful Dorset countryside including the land around Hardy's Monument. The event was organised by Dorchester RIOT Running Club, Dorchester Rugby Club, Dorchester Lions Club and Casterbridge Rotary Club. It was sponsored by Parkers Estate Agents, NFU Mutual (Dorchester), The Dorset Brewing Company and the National Grid. All profits went to local charities, the main charity being the Farming Community Network. All money from the donated cake stall went to Mosaic Family Support.
