Macro Mondays: "Geometry Shapes"
A few rows of very dirty hex nuts stacked close together. Lit with a constant LED.
The image is about 4 cm (1.5 inches) on the long edge.
I received a light prism cube from Mrs. Krach for Christmas. It is only 2cm cube, but shining the light through it creates all kinds of patterns and colors. Had some fun with it on this second day of the year 2022 that is gray and gloomy here in Maryland. How better to brighten things up then lighting up my nuts ...
Some of the red squirrels on Brownsea Island just run for cover as soon as they saw you, others made it quite clear where they were and what they wanted.
Smile on Saturday: Reflection on Black.
Gum nuts.
This is the hardest thing I've tried for Smile on Saturday; which is why I think I'm the one who's nuts :))
Compositionally Challenged Week 48 - Indoor Lighting
I used the light from a north facing bay window and set the EV to -1 to temper the glare on the table. ISO 800 allowed me to hold the camera and not use the tripod. : )
CC November Most Versatile - Seed pods, nuts, acorns (choose one or all)
The squirrels ate all the acorns, so I'm left with nuts. ; )
Beautiful Red Squirrel munching on some nuts yesterday morning. What a beautiful animal to watch so fast and nimble with outstanding balance too.
As I am staying in a hotel at the moment I asked the staff if there was anything interesting in their kitchen. My language skills need improving as a wee while later I was handed some pistachio nuts. Unless they have an uninteresting kitchen !

These are "insert nuts".
The thread is cut on the inside like a normal nut but the outside has a series of machined ribs so that the nut can be pressed or hammered into a hole and thus fixed in place. These nuts accept a "set" screw which is headless but with a slot to accept a screwdriver blade. The other end of the screw is usually pointed so that it can press against another component to prevent movement - thus locking it in place when the desired degree of "set" or adjustment is reached. Many doorknobs use this type of fitting.
Each insert in this photograph is 6mm x 8mm for M4 screws
Many thanks for all views, fav's - and particularly comments - all are greatly appreciated!
Happy Macro Mondays to you all!
