a late post. the 15 represented the weeks that have passed since I was with my grandmother. unfortunately, that number is larger now. still so hard. some days are worse than others. sometimes i don't think at all, & then i feel bad cuz she wasn't at the forefront of my mind. either way, her absent presence in my life is heartbreaking. i don't want to get used to this loss. but it is what it is.

As the year comes to a close, I thought I'd engage in a bit of extreme reduction, here: The year's photos reduced to numbers and plots.
Total frames shot: 10,445, give or take (which sort of boggles me. That's 28 shots a day). The camera's odometer rolled over in October, I think. Fortunately, even if I'm not selective about what I shoot, I'm more selective about what I actually keep in the library.
(This is an update to last summer's focal length plot; I did a bit more tinkering to produce the monthly data. In the meantime, I've also played a bit more with LR's database to produce lists of frequently-used keywords. Data are fun.)
See the big drop between October-November? That's when I started working. And the spike in April? That was the San Juans and Seattle with Heather. May was graduation and a trip home, and in June I nearly wrecked myself hiking in and out of the Black Canyon for a day of fishing. August saw another trip to Colorado, some more hiking, and in September I was on the hunt for fall color in and around town. Then I pretty much rushed into fall and my photo-taking dropped off for a while, until December, when I seemed to have picked it up again.
I continue to love shooting with my prime lenses, as you can see from the focal length plot; my 21mm, 35mm, and 50mm far outnumber everything else.
