beneath the tilted no-parking sign, he walks as if boxed in by invisible limits. a hand to the head—maybe thought, maybe tension. the midday sun burns a path across his skin and the cracked white wall behind him offers no answers. just a command in red and blue: no left, no right.

Havent had time to get out over last couple of weeks, and been yearning for the coast so I paid a visit last week, had perfect tides and sky for what I wanted, but the wind and rain was incessant and coudnt get a shot, tried again yesterday morning, but tide was much lower and it was incessant drizzle, another visit required.

Even in the dark shade, with a bill like this it is hard for this Large-billed Crow to go unnoticed. The quintessential Japanese Crow, this bird’s distribution is through South, SouthEast and East Asia, unlike the Carrion Crow posted yesterday that has a much broader distribution throughout Eurasia. Its former name was Jungle Crow, which I like a lot more! Somehow I only captured this bird on my last day in Japan, but have to post the photo to show the amazing bill and head shape. Truly admired in Shiroyama Koen, Kagoshima, Kyushu.

Saw this sunrise as I finished my late dog walk this morning, so I pushed the dogs into the front porch, grabbed a camera and headed off to take the only open view close to home, the metro line! Well I’ve taken this shot before and it has compositional elements I like. Leading lines, shiny surfaces to reflect the light and a hint of danger, my sort of photography. Oh yes when I got home again Toby and Oscar were still waiting in the porch still wearing their winter coats, collar and lead, poor things.

Just a bit of a grab shot really as I was out looking for Hares mainly, or hopefully. But the Hares were nowhere to be seen today, then I heard this Buzzard calling loudly right above my head. So as I say, a bit of a grab shot as it passed over my head.

You may ask yourself,

well, how did I get here?

Northeast New Mexico, looks desolate but beautiful at the same time. I had this photo and the sky was a boring blah one, so I updated with compositing in a new sky I feel was adding depth to the image. What do you think?
