Street lamp trying to hold back the engulfing darkness. The last marker in a little row, showing the boundary. A warning to the creatures that breathe the darkness, humans beyond this point.
...a final image of a boardwalk on Plum Island...seemingly going nowhere...fortunately, a few hundred additional yards led to the Atlantic...this image is representative of 3 bracketed images blended together...a bit of clarity and temperature added in post...this is certainly a wonderful area to visit, especially for bird watchers...

Knows not where he's going to
Isn't he a bit like you and me?"

Sorry, another capture of a cat on the lawn but the cats love the grass although Sethi loves it even more if he is not stalked by a camera. :)

"There's an idea of the Plains as the middle of nowhere, something to be contemptuous of. But it's really a heroic place." Ian Frazier (author)
This road seemingly goes off into a large expanse of nothingness and yet it beckons one to turn. I imagine a lovely homestead at its end with cattle dotting the landscape and wheat swaying in the breeze.

Well, we know where we're going
But we don't know where we've been
And we know what we're knowing
But we can't say what we've seen
And we're not little children
And we know what we want
And the future is certain
Give us time to work it out
Yeah
We're on a road to nowhere
Come on inside
Taking that ride to nowhere
We'll take that ride
I'm feeling okay this morning
And you know
We're on the road to paradise
Here we go, here we go
We're on a ride to nowhere
Come on inside
Taking that ride to nowhere
We'll take that ride
Maybe you wonder where you are
I don't care
Here is where time is on our side
Take you there, take you there
There's a city in my mind
Come along and take that ride
And it's all right, baby, it's all right
And it's very far away
But it's growing day by day
And it's all right, baby, it's all right
Would you like to come along
You can help me sing the song
And it's all right, baby, it's all right
They can tell you what to do
But they'll make a fool of you
And it's all right, baby, it's all right
There's a city in my mind
Come along and take that ride
And it's all right, baby, it's all right
And it's very far away
But it's growing day by day
And it's all right, baby, it's all right
Would you like to come along
You can help me sing the song
And it's all right, baby, it's all right
They can tell you what to do
But they'll make a fool of you
And it's all right, baby, it's all right
We're on a road to nowhere
Come on inside
Taking that ride to nowhere
We'll take that ride
I'm feeling okay this morning
And you know
We're on the road to paradise
Here we go, here we go

Winnats Pass is a hill pass and limestone gorge in the Peak District of Derbyshire, England. The name is a corruption of 'wind gates' due to the swirling winds through the pass. It lies west of the village of Castleton, in the National Trust's High Peak Estate and the High Peak borough of Derbyshire. The road winds through a cleft, surrounded by high limestone ridges.
Seen or rather not seen on my very, very early morning walk...
At first I was so happy to be alone there... but haha.... behind the first little hill a nest of photographers was already waiting for the sunrise.. :-(((
It wasn't until I got home that I saw him in my picture... Can you find him? Maybe you need to double-press the Z-button ;-)))
Have a wonderful evening!
