Hay racks are an ethnological speciality of Slovenia. In Alps, summers are short and hay must be covered to get dry. But I never saw an idea to use it as staff for notation. Well, my wife says this notation of Slovenian national anthem (Zdravljica / The Toast) has at the end some faults, but the idea is still fine.
Note the canopy is very slightly open - it was a hot day! One of few female pilots on the display circuit, Isabel tore up the skies over Old Warden. A magnificent sight and sound.

This tiny bud came from a miniature rose plant I bought at the supermarket in the village because I love the colour. The notebook, or aide-mémoire, is French and dates back to the 1910s. It's made of brass and is silver-plated. The lace is from the 1930s. I seem to have stalled for the moment in vintage mode. Perhaps it's because I've just hit a big birthday. :)

note: there are two sections to the falls and the combined descent is about 50 feet. Picture a five story building. This was after a significant rainfall and they were as raging as I've ever seen them. The linked, dated photo gives an idea of scale here. early june , wider view of this falls
No, not again snow in Hamburg.
But when I'm looking out of my windows and see nothing than gray sky and rain I prefer the weather on the photo (that was just 14 days before)
Note: Some of the images I am using for the Bird count were previously taken. I'm short on time at the moment. Also, less birds visit when the camera is visible.
For the bird count, there are three hummers here on a regular basis. One male and two females. They use the feeders on occasion but they prefer to nectar from the flowers most of the time. I believe that there is one couple and they may have started nesting in oak two. They fuss at me every time I get too close to that oak. Image taken through the window. I put the hummingbird feeder in the firebush outside the window and swap it out with a different feeder with fresh sugar water every three days. In the future, I will only purchase small feeders and they will all be the same. The idea is to be able to make the swap with a fresh clean feeder / water and bring the other one if to clean with little disturbance to the birds. They don't seem to mind too much that the feeder style changes often. But if I were buying them over again, I would go for small ones in order to save on sugar water. It's not expensive to make or anything but it does mold here in FL fairly quickly so it needs changed often for the birds health. I'd rather fill small ones each time :)
