Instructions:
1) Sponge Antique Linen ink randomly on a 4" x 5 1/4" white panel and adhere to a 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" top folding black card.
2) Stamp Music Score in black ink on a 3 1/2" x 3 3/4" white panel.
3) Sponge Antique Linen ink randomly on stamped panel to create aged look. Back panel with a slightly larger black panel.
4) Wrap polka dot ribbon around the left side of the music score panel and then adhere to the left side of the card as shown
5) Die Cut a white circle panel and sponge Antique Linen ink randomly on it before backing with a slightly larger black die cut circle and then adhere to card front.
6) Stamp Wavy Music image on a white scrap and cut out around edges. Sponge Antique Linen ink randomly across image and then adhere across circle panel as shown
7) Ink half the sentiment stamp with black ink and stamp on lower right corner and then ink the other half of the stamp and stamp above

On the second volume in this two-disc series Thelonious Monk has come fully into his own as a leader. The program consists almost entirely of original compositions, and in fact it opens with two of his most difficult: "Four in One" (with its conventional bop intro that leads into a bizarre, repeated five-against-two quintuplet sequence) and the forbiddingly abstract "Criss Cross." Get through those and you'll eventually be rewarded with the relatively straightforward, blues-based "Straight No Chaser" and the sweet ballad "Ask Me Now," among other treats. Sidemen include the young trumpeter Kenny Dorham and bassist Al McKibbon, as well as a more clued-in Art Blakey and (replacing Blakey on half of the program) Max Roach. Sahib Shihab's sax tone is more appropriate this time out, and the production quality is somewhat better. This disc, along with Volume 1, belongs in every jazz collection. [The CD reissue includes numerous alternate takes and features a chronological song order; thus, its program is very different from that of the LP that it duplicates in the catalog. The same is true of Volume 1.]

Airplane doodles on my Galaxy Note II phone. I always planned on using my phone to draw more but it only seems to happen while flying, and that's not very often. I started the ogre the last time I flew to New Mexico over new years. I just finished him up a little more. I did the girl during my two hour flight home today. Someday I'll do more drawing. Maybe if I get the Note 3.

The post-dark age mad purchase rush has finally settled down. I spent the first half of the year panic-buying LEGO sets, and now I'm experiencing a bad, bad case of buyer's remorse.
I never really expected to go back to collecting and playing with LEGO. I don't know, it's like a brick (ha. ha.) hit me out of nowhere and the next thing I know, I'm picking up boxes and boxes of LEGO at the toy store as if they were cheap candy. I strayed away from my core interest themes and bought a lot of sets out of curiosity and just for the heck of it (6193 Castle Building Set, anyone?).
While updating my inventory last week, I realized that by recklessly buying lots of small- and mid-sized sets over the past six months, I've missed out on the big ones (e.g. Cafe Corner) that I really wanted but have always dismissed as too expensive.
So now I trimmed down my to-acquire list for the rest of the year to a semi-manageable three big sets. I'm planning to sell some of my other old and new sets as well. Not an easy thing to do, really. I'm still having a hard time stopping myself from going to the LEGO section every time I pass by a toy store.
