I had fun playing with photoshop for this shot. I took some shots for the Super Hero monthly challenge, theme (school supplies) and thought the shot was a little boring so I started playing with it and this is what I came up with.

I made this notebook cover for a private swap. I covered it with fabric and added iron-on letters and pink fabric swirls I cut with my trusty sizzix.

Here are my first efforts in the world of book binding, small A7 sized notebooks, and I have to say I am pretty pleased with them as an initial attempt, which is unusual for me.
I didn’t have any book cloth and it is quite expensive, so I made my own using some old cotton twill trousers. I simply cut out a piece of fabric, laid it on a thick piece of glass, and then overlaid it with a larger piece of tracing paper coated with PVA. I then gently (don’t press too hard) rolled over it with a printing roller and allowed it to dry.

Repurposed clean, brown, paper grocery bags are used for the cover of this small, super deluxe version of my notebooks. Great for your purse, as party favors, or to use as a journal on your road trip this summer. It measures 5 inches high by 3 inches wide when closed. It contains 10 papers which create 20 pages. The papers for writing include graph paper, newsprint, yellow and white notebook paper, and practice writing paper. Each notebook is machine stitched with white thread.
The cover is rubber stamped with the words "road trip" and lined with beautiful repurposed wall paper. The writing paper pages are sandwiched with a page from a vintage cookbook and a map, creating visual interest and reflecting the road trip theme.

Four times a year, at the end of each quarter, the notebooks are collected and graded. Of course I want to see everthing --- class notes, vocabulary sheets, cultural info, verb info, tape recorded practice sheets --- everthing completed and in the specified order. Now is that asking too much?
It takes a while to grade the notebooks, but it is worth the time and effort, and I feel good knowing that, when the students leave me, they have a great "resource of information" to use in future Spanish classes.
everything went wrong with this. It was supposed to just be a regular vhs notebook, but I cut the box too narrow, then I cut the paper too crooked. So it turned into a reporter notebook.
Horrible focus, in my opinion. I couldn't get it focused correctly, due to my horrible room lighting. I just wanted to express my love for this book :)
