Yes this is pulled DIRECTLY out of my Calc 1 notebook from one of my first semesters in college.
In my defense, I had already taken Calculus in High School, but never passed the AP exam. :P

This is really how I saw my Calc professor. I ended up also having him for Statistics, and he was a really cool prof ... kind of.
I'm pretty sure he knew I was drawing him into a series of Calculus Comix and he never brought it to an end. He actually seemed thrilled to have me back for Stats, so I guess it's all good...
Text reads:
Prof: "Don't worry, we're not doing any real work today."
Student: "If we aren't doing any real work, what are we doing?"
Prof: "Just playing with our calculators! Aren't you glad you're paying to be here?"
He has this habit of spending entire lectures just showing us what buttons on our calculators do... arrgghh
I was going to add this one last entry into the contest for August, but our computer died last week. Oh, well. Here it is 5 days late. Please see my blog for more details.
When you're playing the piano, those little symbols like arrows are there to remind you to take notice of them, and play those notes hard enough to emphasize them.
You can tell whether a person is seeing these tiny musical symbols important or not when they're playing.
This principle is easy -
If you care about them, you'll take them into serious consideration, and try to perform them well ;
If you don't care about them, well, then I don't think you'll spend any of your thoughts on them. You may just see them as some meaningless stuffs.
That's what "importance" means.
Then do you know how important you are to me?
I'm sure a nice nut, er, umm...note will wipe the pout right off her face.

We have good beef steak for dinner every two or three days and rice about as often which is the best part of our rations. I have got a frying pan and can get flour at 9 1/2 cts a pound and would like to know how to make pancakes out of it. Please send me a receipt [he probably meant “recipe”] and I will try my hand at it.

Actually, it's a note left for us on the table at the cottage, where we (unfortunately) have to do something about the mice, and as much as I would rather leave a live trap - they would be doomed to a slow death as there is too much time in between visits.
