i spent my morning in criminal court for work.
on trial: three twentysomethings on two counts. the first was an assault charge stemming from a drunken fist fight at a frat party, the second other the use of uncostitutional symbols/incitement of the people. these fellows had repeatedly done the hitler salute and sung a song about burning people of colour alive at a local youth club.
it was a pretty typical court date, really, nothing went as planned. the assault case turned out to be pretty weak in relation to two of the defendants, and the incitement case had to be postponed because they forgot to subpoena the witnesses. so i sat in court, scribbling notes for four hours and didn't even get to write an article on the proceedings afterwards.
next court date: march 13th.

This is supposed to be a microscale model of the Blue Eagle Gym. It's the oldest building in my university's campus.
I basically gave up after trying to create a blue eagle for the facade (reference photo).
I don't know how many here on Flickr are familiar with the history of an area commonly known as Sodus, Michigan.
While I lived there , (back a' ways), a grass roots movement was suggesting Sodus secede from the Union and apply for foreign aid. (that is where the big money is at) A Sodus flag was designed and made. There were plans for border guards, a departure tax,a bribery department (to handle all incoming bribe money), and our own State Currency. I was called upon to design the money. Nobody had any ideas of what they wanted, so I put my own picture (albeit an old one) on the front of the notes. Graham Handy and King John Sesh were also used on other notes. This is the picture used for the large notes. Unfortunately, it all never came to pass. I am sitting here with all this worthless (but good looking) money.
Small has issues with the "L" word. If he's singing a song, he makes you sing the line that has the word "love" in it. He won't say it. He never reciprocates it verbally. He gave me this note the other day that showed me he's thinking it, even when he doesn't say it.

The last table of people I served at Denny's wrote me this. The whole table was deaf, making it an entirely different experience. Random.
