In doing this weeks (Feb. 12, 2018) Macro Monday theme "In a Bottle", I decided to incorporate the technique learned from last weeks theme of "Monochrome". I was very happy with this result.

Yesterday my images past the 500,000 view mark, after a year and 3 weeks on Flickr. Many thanks to all my friends, contacts and the Flickr community at large. And a very special thank you (O’chau) to all those who follow my Hmong coverage.
Ive been in Vietnam now for a few weeks covering the Hmong (lunar) New Year celebration. The Black Hmong are the largest minority in the Sapa region, accounting for about 50% of the population of about 50,000.

Pls. note that I’m in Vietnam now, not much on line and Internet connection is slow and under the weather here. As I promised on my last trip, I will catch up commenting when I’m back home. Thanks for understanding.

A little background on this. I didn't wake up one morning and decide to do a video with the song Tequila. It just evolved from taking some short videos (just a minute or so in each outfit) with no music or theme in mind. It's easy to do when I'm taking pictures, I just hit the record button and then do something. I'm glad I had a scarf with me that I was able to use as a prop. I was just swaying to whatever tune was playing on the radio. I later try to find a song that that I can match the videos to. I had a couple songs in mind, but never got past the first one. The editing is like a Rubik's Cube, trying to find the right combination of clips to match the music.
I hope I've given you something better to associate with this song besides the Pee-wee Herman dance. Now I think I'll have a shot of Don Julio.
Don't leave your camera bag in shot when using a fisheye lens! Another from our adventures in the flooded Derbyshire Lime Kiln.
NOTE:
The standard disclaimer still applies: That's a wooden decoy -- anchored
to the bottom of the lake -- that the egret is standing on.

'Cause I was doing better alone
But when you said, "Hello"
I knew that was the end of it all🎶🎵

Just had the sensor cleaned on the Nikon D40. Lovely to see sky shots with no blemishes!
Whilst walking towards this gent I noticed he was looking out to sea with his binoculars. Whilst passing him he hadn't moved at all and the further away I got from, I looked back and he was still standing, looking out to see and hadn't moved a fraction!
Maybe, it was a new statue placed on the beach 😉

The Blue Note Elephant is a rare species that is unparalleled as the smallest elephant subspecies: Musically gifted, they are famous for their blues-like trumpeting! I also like to celebrate this iconic label ! Have fun!
For macro Monday. The theme is curves. I hope this qualifies. Its an alternate version to a similar shot, this time in color with a shade white balance added in post. Have a good day everyone. Thanks for the views, comments, and faves.

Yoho National Park, British Columbia, Canada.
The initial plunge strikes a ledge which directs the flow outward from the cliff resulting in a spectacularly messy waterfall (Note 1). Because of its separation from the cliff, cross winds have a big impact. I also did video, which shows that the heavy wind-driven mist (Note 2) is actually moving upward. Total height of falls is 384 meters (1260 feet).
these are images of a 3y.o. rehabililated mangrove. this project shows how long it takes to reach a mature mangrove that can support more life. so it is important we protect the few mangroves we have left
Trondheim, Norway, 17th May (Norwegian Constitution Day) 2016, © Lise Utne
On Constitution Day, national costumes from all over the country -- and other parts of the world -- are lifted out of countless bedroom wardrobes for their annual excursion into fresh air. People are proud of their national costumes; they are very expensive and express belonging and tradition.
Trondheim lies in mid Norway, i.e. the southern part of Sápmi, but this national costume is from Finnmark up north, i.e. in northern Sápmi (Sápmi being the Saami area extending across mid-to-northern Norway, Sweden, Finland and north-western Russia.)
With artistic photo processing added (natch), this shot was taken at the benefit concert for Seymour Duncan's Notes For Notes 2015 Charity Concert at the Lobero Theatre in beautiful Santa Barbara, California.
The shapes depicted here remind me of the musical notes on the sheet music when I learned to play the piano.
Thank you for viewing my photograph.
