You're the light in the morning

You're the breeze in the afternoon

You're the water welling up within me

You are making me new

You're the roots that go deep deep down

You're the energy I need to grow

You're the mover of my every season

You surround me everywhere I go

You are the sun, and I'm your sunflower

You are the reason for the colors of my soul

You are the sun, and I'm your sunflower

So I look to you and overflow

You are watching over me constantly

You are strengthening my feeble knees

You are fighting for my victory

You are fighting for me I believe

You are the sun, and I'm your sunflower

You are the reason for the colors of my soul

You are the sun, and I'm your sunflower

So I look to you and overflow

You're always smiling at me

Even when I can't breathe

You're always smiling at me

Even when I can't see

You're always smiling at me

You're teaching me how to breathe

So I look to you and let it all go

I look to you and let it go

Oh

You are the sun, and I'm your sunflower

You are the reason for the colors of my soul

You are the sun, and I'm your sunflower

So I look to you and

Oh I look to you and

I look to you and overflow

Here's the second in the pair of "fence notes" I took last weekend at the Delaware shore. I was thinking they looked like quarter notes, with the shadows as musical bars. Yes, yes, that might be pushing the musical metaphor a little far ... but why not?

Love days like these where fog engulfs the entire docklands area and you are left with a misty fog all around. Light bounces in unusual ways and you get to see colours and highlights such as these.

Thank you all for your appreciation.

Music was my refuge. I could crawl into the space between the notes and curl my back to loneliness.

Passing deep under Liverpool with a Wirral Line circular is Merseyrail three-car unit no. 508117, seen here approaching Moorfields station.

The train is the 1.56pm West Kirby - Liverpool - West Kirby (2W49) Saturdays-only service. Next stop is Lime Street, then Central and James Street before diving back under the River Mersey towards Birkenhead and The Wirral.

Sadly no stop at Penny Lane this time around 😂

Homemade note book given to me in Sri Lanka.

Just a note regarding my camera. I’m using my Nikon D5200 at the moment as it turns out weather sealed is subjective as my poor D750 will testify to. It’s in Nikon hospital getting a new AF system fitted as salt water has ruined it. I’ve now bought a rain cover which would have saved me a lot of money in hindsight A fool and his money are easily parted.

You can't control how other people receive your energy.

Anything you do or say

gets filtered through the lens

of whatever they are going through at the moment,

Which is not about you.

Just keep doing your thing

The seductive smell of the ocean together with the distant calls of unseen wading birds, bring an air of peace and tranquility to this beach on the outer reaches of the Thames estuary, seen here at low tide.

I was spending an hour or so at Chalkwell station and, in a gap between trains, couldn't resist stepping along the shore for a while to take in the atmosphere.

Thamesport and Tilbury are just a few miles upstream so the deeper channels see a reasonable amount of shipping traffic during a typical day. Across the river can be seen the storage tanks of the UK National Grid's LNG terminal, located on the Isle of Grain. It doesn't look much from here but, during a 12 month period in 2022/23 this, the largest terminal by volume in Europe, unloaded over 100 ships from around the world, and supplied 14% of the nation's natural gas needs.

No surprise it was a pretty dour autumn day, but the backlight on the exposed riverbed provided some nice contrasts which I tried to exploit.

The title is a steal from the excellent book of the same name by author Barry Lopez.
