As much as I shoot trees, you'd think I'd have more shots of Live Oaks. Even though they are all around, they always seem to be in someone's yard. These (there are two there) are in an open plot of land that will probably soon become a subdivision, where someone will probably pay dearly for their lot because this tree is on it.
The little acorn-shaped flowerettes are slowly opening up, now. I've been watching this thing open up for a couple of weeks now...
I'm not sure if this was a young tree or a shrub, but the natural pattern of the leaves and the bush itself really grabbed my attention. Shot taken in the wild on a nature trail.

After a bit of a drought, the trees are really sucking up all the rain we've been getting. Of course, when it rains, it pours...especially in Louisiana.

The way generative AI is taking over our society scares the hell out of me.
The way tech companies are using AI against society scares the hell out of me.
If you're using these systems, you're supporting them and you are part of the problem.
Stop using Gen-AI. Use your brain. Save the planet.
Read this amazing article (which has many reference sources listed) - it describes what's going on better than I can.
This is Lenny every morning, waiting by Mommie's door for her to wake up. He couldn't give two hoots about me, but I love him anyways...
HFF!!
Found this fungi growing on a huge tree in our front yard. I'm afraid this doesn't bode well for the health of the tree, but it makes for an interesting shot...
I met up with this fellow on a walk down the road from my house. When I noticed him on the side of the road in front of me, I just had time to raise my camera and click off one shot before he flitted off. By chance, I was walking with my 70-300mm!!
