The disadvantage of a fixed focal length is... sometimes the whole bird doesn't fit in the picture... here I was using the 400mm and 1.4x converter, which is 560mm.

Wishing you all a pleasant start to your Christmas holidays!! I haven't had much time for picture taking. Too busy getting stuff ready for Thursday, but here's one from 2015 that struck my fancy this morning... :)
When you think about it, there is an art to just about anything. I was impressed by this farmer's fence building skills.
There are three places in our Gulf: Diano Marina, San Bartolomeo al Mare and Cervo. Each of the three towns has its own charm, which provides plenty of photo opportunities. The busiest time is around 15 August. There are lots of tourists, so we only really go into the village for the essentials. But when we do go, it's worth having a camera to hand.
When I noticed a very slight hint of the red tips in the original shot of these Sago leaves, I started down an interesting path of playing with color balance, and all the other color control sliders available in LightRoom, to emphasize it, along with the natural lines. It was a fun journey... :)
