New to the garden this year, I stumbled upon these the other day growing in the corner. It was as if they were trying to lay low, with that colour though, it's unlikely that would happen.

It wasn't just sunsets I have been after recently. The sunrises at this time of year can be very striking too.
I was about early recently & this was the scene that greeted me on the beach. Although there wasn't any cloud to colour the skies, the strong sun made for some attractive tones & produced a particularly prominent 'path' along the water.
I went down to Laguna Seca late last month to check out the Speed Ventures track day and Radical Sports car and EXR races. I took a bunch of photos digitally (to be posted shortly), but also brought along a new-to-me old film SLR; a Nikon F-801s. I thought this was supposed to AF with all of my Nikkor lenses, but it wouldn't work for me; so pardon some missed-focus shots; I had to do it manually. If R1 is in the image name, it was taken on Agfa Photo Vista 200; R2 was Ektar 100. Taken with one of the following lenses:
Nikon 24mm f/1.8G
Nikon 50mm f/1.8D
Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 VR II
Nikon 300mm f/2.8 VR I
Most of these could be improved in Lightroom or whatever, and I may do that eventually, but I'm posting these raw scans as-is, because that was the point of shooting the film for me, and I'm spending plenty of time in LR for the digital photos anyway. ^_^
I paid a visit to St Peters Church in Carlton Colville recently. The church was holding a Christmas fayre & there were lots of elaborately decorated Christmas trees.
This was a close up of one of the decorations on a tree in the church.
I took a trip out to Norfolk at the weekend. I went to a small village & visited the church there. It felt like I was in the middle of nowhere when I got to the church, I had to go down a long winding road to get there.
It was worth it though as the church was in a scenic area and it was interesting to look inside. Here is a shot of the church I took while looking round the grounds.
While turning through some drawers I found an old deck of cards. This wasn't your standard deck of cards though it was a set made just after the invasion of Iraq in 2003.
These cards were made by the US & given out to their soldiers to help them recognise the top tiers of the old Iraqi regime.
Here I have placed the very top of the rogues gallery in 'the studio'. This includes Saddam Hussein & his two sons all of whom are now dead.
Before I left Happisburgh, I couldn't resist getting one last shot of the lighthouse.
After playing around with selective colour before, I went for a very full on colourful shot here. I was aided nicely by bright conditions & a very deep blue sky.
There were a few fun fair rides in a corner of Fritton Lake. Amongst them was this carousel. I couldn't help but get a photo of this carousel as it was so colourful.
The last leg of my London trip took in a trip to Trafalgar Square. Here is a shot of the National Portrait Gallery at the head of the square.
The gallery holds lots of fine paintings & it is free to enter.

A winters view through Pakefield Park one morning recently. I liked the way the sun was filtering through the bare trees as I walked in the park.
This is one of the views I photograph the most, it's just at the end of the road.
The sky was looking particularly striking today which tempted me into getting yet another photo.
I came across this red boat last time I walked to Dunwich & I got a photo of it at the time. When I saw it again, I couldn't help, but get another photo. I did at least try & go for a different angle this time rounds.
My effort from last year can be seen here:
