This is a long exposure that i did by using my new Nisi ND 1000 Filter. I also used a Nisi GND 0,9 and the CPL Filter.
I love these Nisi Filters.

The surreal, southern flanks of Snæfellsjökull Volcano on Snaefellsnes Peninsula, Iceland.
Snæfellsjökull stands at 1446m with its last recorded eruption approximately 200CE.
The peak was wreathed in cloud the whole time we were travelling around it and most of the day was grey and drizzly. In the late afternoon, Mr Sun finally got below the clag and lit up the fabulous lava flows and the rich, autumn-toned grasses very nicely. True golden hour splendour. Iceland is just magic in the autumn.

Another frame from what may have been the most productive afternoon I've ever had with a camera.
A decayed cold front passing over Great Oyster Bay with Freycinet Peninsula and Schouten Island on the horizon. Tasmania.

I was exploring the wild dunes during one of my sunrise sessions in Rosolina Mare (see my What a meaningful world... for information about that peculiar location). This was sort of a discovery for me - a whole new world I had previously seen only through the work of several of my Flickr friends, mainly from Northern Europe.
The dunes were graced by a gentle touch of Mediterranean scrub - a tamarisk on the left, some sea hollies (Eryngium maritimum), and a lot of sparse creeping vines sporting graceful rosy flowers that I think are, quite aptly, called Beach morning glory (Convolvulus soldanella or Ipomoea pes-caprae), here caught as they were beginning to open. It is well known that the seeds of this plant, unaffected by salt water, can float for long distances.
It was an exciting discovery: the place could have been two light-years far from the nearest touristic beach! And as I was enjoying (and capturing as well) the silent miracle of the sunrise my soul was singing. The sun was wrestling his way between the clouds and the world was bathed in a soft, golden light. And as the rosy lips of the flowers were gently opening I was wondering where the seeds of those plants came from. As I was keeping shooting I could almost hear their thin voices greeting the first lights of the day by whispering stories from distant countries.
I have obtained this picture by blending an exposure bracketing [-1.7/0/+1.7 EV] by luminosity masks in the Gimp (EXIF data, as usual, refer to the "normal exposure" shot), then I added some final touches with Nik Color Efex Pro 4.
I have had some unexpected luminance noise here, so I tried hard to clean up; Dfine made a discrete job, but left here and there artifacts I was not able to avoid. In the end I found that the better job was done by Noiseware Community Edition.
We went for a walk on the Musketawa Trail near Coopersville and found these cute birdhouses.

Taken last Tuesday at the Botanical Garden. It was a moody autumn day, and really cold, too. I didn't bring gloves, because I thought it's still warm enough, but... it wasn't ;-)
(Kind of) HDR capture of the Mediterranian House which was the first greenhouse to be finished (1904) at the Berlin-Dahlem Botanical Garden. Nowadays it does not only show flora of the Mediterranian and the Canary Islands, it can be rented by the hour for events, like weddings, as well.

Prag '86: Zimmer mit Aussicht
#3: Before I take you on a sightseeing tour of Prague in autumn 1986 I want to show you the strange view from the hotel room and the backyard of the hotel (the next photo) we stayed in.
The view out of the window in this picture is actually a view "into" the hotel itself. I took it from the oriel window and one can look at the respective oriel in the adjacent room and the one in the room next to that room. The last oriel window leads outside.
Obviously this "architectural pattern" was only repeated for three neighbouring rooms. Otherwise, I suppose, one could have looked through all the rooms on one floor ad infinitum.
Taken in October 1986 with my mother's Canon AE-1 and reworked in Lightroom and Color Efex Pro.

Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon in South Iceland.
From the archives of 2015. It was raining cats and dogs in 2017 so we only took a small number of frames - nothing like this sweeping view of the lagoon was even possible.
Another frame that I passed over back in the day so here it is brought into the light.

A quiet blue narrowboat rests beneath a canopy of summer leaves, moored along a shaded canal where the water is scattered with lily pads and flecks of reflected light. This is actually Böðvarsholtshyrna (572m) on the Snaefellsnes Peninsula. It reminded me of Cirith Ungol in Tolkein's LOTR.
I estimate spending over 40 hours on numerous colour versions of this image but in the end called it quits and rendered the thing in mono.
The frame was always overshadowed by the Black Church at Búðir (the peak is immediately inland of the church on the other side of the highway) and the extraordinary Aurora that evening.
There was a lot of mist and rain kicking around during the day and it must have cleared for a second or two for this shot. It's the only frame in the day's shooting of this area and I seem to have shot it walking back to the hotel.
