one stroke at a time, into deeper and deeper shades of night.”

When will the cycle stop
When will the story end
This is where I get off
Because I cant go there anymore
Its to hard to ignore the signs
Where did these tears come from
IT feels like they'll never dry
What have we both become
We are strangers in time
Where blood is our only tie..

Spotlighting can be an extraordinary way to see mammals, but Ranthambhore National Park does not permit visits after sunset. So we contracted a driver to tour us around the fields and villages near the Pugmark (our resort), outside the protected zone. The area is very built up and densely populated; I didn't have super high hopes.
As it turned out, the 2 hour drive was very productive:
1 Indian Hare
1 Jungle Cat
1 Indian Fox
1 Golden Jackal
4 Nilgai
The Jungle Cat above was happily hunting in the rubbish strewn ditch at the edge of a small town. My sense is that humans and wild animals have a long history of sharing the same space in India.

SHINJUKU AT NIGHT
Kabukichō, Shinjuku is an entertainment and red-light district in Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan. Kabukichō is the location of many host and hostess clubs, love hotels, shops, restaurants, and nightclubs, and is often called the "Sleepless Town" (眠らない街). The district's name comes from late-1940s plans to build a kabuki theater: although the theater was never built, the name stuck.
