Its been a long time since I caught an SD60 leading a CP freight but in fading light and flurries, CP 6225 with CP 2251 rumbles through Puslinch past mile 43 on the Galt sub on its way to Wolverton.
The coal and the empty coal went well, the Bernburg handover was also in the box and finally I was glad after a long day that the lights were coming on everywhere. The cold was merciless. In Peißen I wanted to buy a loaf of bread and there she was: Franzi! Hair pinned up, lipstick, big earrings, a turtleneck top without sleeves, and beaming. It was warm in the bakery. Everything clearly, I toke the bread and Franzi with me, for a long walk with her and her sassy dog. But she didn't want to rent a pond with me for sell fishes later. Unfortunately there wasn't any more time. And so I drove off to Halle-Trotha harbor for a completely different kind of appointment.
This picture here shows what came of it. In the whole film strip it is the only shot that is like this. The reach steaker really only parked briefly and made this shot possible. Would Franzi have liked that too? Definitely!

I was down by the river taking shots of the birds, and as I turned away, this gentleman called for my attention. He asked me to take his picture. I don't normally take people (other than family), but was happy to oblige him! He has such a classic look with his apron, big mustache, and most importantly, big smile!

I hope you all don't mind me posting another version of the cottonwood shot I posted earlier. It is a different frame and I used this one to learn a really fun Photoshop trick: using displacement maps to make pretty darn realistic fake water compared to other methods I've used. If you would like to try this yourself, check out the excellent tutorial I found here. It is a bit more work than other methods I've tried, but I think the results are better. Let me know what you think!
