Ripley’s Niagara is expecting a visit from one of Mr. Popper’s Prop Penguins from the set of this summer’s family blockbuster movie this Sunday. The prop, a gift to Rita Carrey, sister of Jim Carrey- the star of the movie, is making its way around Southern Ontario visiting unique attractions and areas of interest. Rita, a DJ and Radio Personality at 91.7 GIANT FM, is promoting the prop penguins adventure in order to stir up a buzz around the penguin which will be auctioned off at this September’s Light of Day Charity Gala.
In an effort to support the positive efforts of Rita and Light of Day, Ripley’s will be holding a promotion throughout the week to raise funds for the Parkinson’s Disease charity. Guests to their three Niagara Falls locations: Ripley’s Believe It or Not!, Ripley’s Moving Theater and Louis Tussaud’s Waxworks who make a donation of any amount will receive an entry ballot to win one of five daily prizes ranging from free admission passes to Ripley’s Books and merchandise. The give-to-win promotion has been extended to run until Sunday August 28th.
“We hope this encourages guests to get behind such positive efforts by so many people and support a great local charity”, Tim Parker optimistically explains, General Manager of Ripley’s Niagara “We are just trying to do what we can to help support Rita and the Light of Day Charity.”
The weather was gorgeous for our visit. The spray in the back are from the Canadian part of Niagara Falls.
