Project 365 Day 8: My second New Year's Resolution (the first being this project) is to study Turkish more.

Every year as the holidays approach, Kevin Vennesland takes stock of his life. In 2010, he decided he wanted to take on more project leadership responsibilities at work—he loved the idea of seeing projects through to successful completion.

After some research, he decided that education would give him both the skills and credibility he needed to lead—and a recommendation from a co-worker, along with a thorough analysis of competing programs, helped him determine that SFU Continuing Studies' Diploma in Applied Project Management was his best option.

My New Year's Resolution - sharpening up my skills

New Year's Resolution: starting to read again, and take Tempest's challenge

Shana is from Malaysia and came here to attend a nearby University. When I first met her at church, she looked 12, but was 18. Now, she's married and 22. I don't know her very well, but I am her helper as she teaches 2 year old's on Wednesday nights. Such a lovely young woman (even with a mustache)!

Last night I watched a documentary about a very 'large' woman in America (I forget her name), while chomping my way through homemade gingerbread men and christmas chocolates. Tonight I stepped on the scales...its not good!!! (and I've still got so many more 'treats' to get through!!!) still, I'm determined to remain positive...onwards and upwards as they say!!

...to communicate with my family and friends as often as I can.

. apprendre à conduire ma mob

. un sourire par jour à quelqu'un que je ne connais pas

. réussir à faire une course de 10kms

. passer le premier niveau du cours de sommelier

. aller à New York

tout un programme!

hoping to change this number this year...

Happy new year...

The creativity is flowing in the group and got me thinkling about my submission. Here it is. You have to check the notes to see what's all about!

Thanks for stopping by. Happy new year to Project Glimpse!

2009 was “DO”, and I DID a lot (traveled America on Jet Blue’s All You Can Jet pass, went back to Europe for the first time since leaving Germany in 1995, etc.). 2010 was “EMERGE” and I emerged creatively/professionally with a new portfolio site (madebypk.com), new reel, new blog, and complete overhaul of online identity (formerly singlepixel+introversion, now pk+slackluster). I also laid the groundwork for my new goals of branching out socially, digital music production, becoming fluent in German, and positioning myself as a fine artist with wetmilk.com (coming soon).

And now…2011: “PROACTIVE, NOT REACTIVE”. Unlike my themes for the last 2 years, this year’s theme is highly internal. Toward the end of 2010 I started to realize that I am a highly reactive individual, that (largely due to my childhood as an Army brat) I have grown accustomed to continually adapting to whatever situation I’m currently in and morphing into whatever it is I think I need to be in order to assimilate/belong. Although this may sound like a useful/practical way of living, it does not necessarily lead to being truly happy, as my happiness is always contingent upon external circumstances.

So in 2011, I’ve made it my focus to look inside myself and discover who I really am, what I really want, the way I want to be…and unapologetically be myself in each and every situation I encounter throughout the year. My hope is that by the end of the year I will be quite comfortable in my own skin, that I will no longer second guess myself, that I will no longer feel guilty about pursuing happiness and my chosen direction in life, that I will move forward proactively and not allow external stimuli to adversely affect me. Here’s to 2011!

new years resolution #2: have more fun!

i jacked up the saturation because happiness is bright and stuff, right? :D

my father made me get up at noon and i wasn't allowed to go back to sleep. :[ so i spent most of the morning pouting and whining and trying to fall asleep without him finding out. i did get to sleep for an hour or so at one point. and now, i am not tired which was the whole point of him waking me up. :[

later this night, i had to go in kroger and get tums so i put these on as pants. x] they are these huge leggings. then me and caleb had another fun "photoshoot". this time we turned all the lights out and we taking pictures with the flash of us in midair jumping on the bed. ahhhh, so much fun. :]

I love these resolutions posted at Sweetgreen in Dupont Circle
