I have been reflecting on my life today and realised one thing I have always wanted to do is play the Guitar. I took it up at around the age of 9 but soon gave it up. It then took me another 20 years to decide to try it again. Yes you guessed it yet again I put it down and forgot all about it now 5 years later I have decided it is time to take it up again.
The reason I have decided to do it this time is obviously when I struggle to learn something I tend to put it away and forget about it. And photography has taught me one thing that if I try hard and break through that initial nightmare of learning the settings framing and composition then how hard can it be to learn how to play the guitar.
I know it is a bit early for a new years resolution but this year I have decided to pick something more realistic as for the last 4 years it has been to give up smoking but that last a day and normally because I am nursing a big hangover lol. So I am going to see if I can put in the same time and effort as I do photography. As you can see I have a slight problem only 4 strings but I took the step and ordered some last night so as soon as they arrive I will be off. Xfactor hear I come lmfao

New years resolution - January 1st 2009 - Log all my spending.
I've been typing into ixpenseit (itunes link to free version) usually several times a day for a year. Every penny that's left my pocket or bank account has been logged. Pleased to report the application has done an amazing job at looking after my data, across numerous updates, and now i have 365 days worth of my spending habits to analyse where my money is going in obsessive detail...
When my ipod took a tumble in August i was scared the data might have been lost and everytime i've misplaced it, this is the information i've been most annoyed at the prospect of losing... especially as i thought i'd lost it in the supermarket LAST NIGHT O_O
No bank details are stored in the app, but it's irreplacable data... it might get backed up when i sync with itunes, but i NEVER wanted to have to find out. I tried to export a CSV file of it every few months but often forgot, so it's a good thing i always found it again. Would like to build a parser for that file now but god knows if i'll ever get round to it.
