Hello 2011!

This year I have made TWO new year resolutions.

NUMBER 1: To be more open to seafood. Yes this may seem silly to some but I usually stay away from most kinds of seafood and feel it’s time to give it a chance. I plan to eat as many kinds of seafood within 2011, starting with crab legs next week!

NUMBER 2: To read and educate myself more on photography. I hope to spend at least 3 hours a week online, at the bookstore or at the library reading up on anything having to do with photography.

From my weekly TGIF blog post: victoriaannephotography.wordpress.com/2010/12/31/tgif-12-...

"Save the excuses. It's not about having time. It's about making time."

My new year's resolution is 1680x1050, and when I upgrade my ancient video card I'll use that second monitor on the same desktop.

Every year lots of people believe that the turn of the year is a good starting point to improve their life. Frequently heard 'New Year's Resolutions' are to lose weight, drink less alcohol, get a better job and of course quit smoking. Especially that last one is hard to persevere. Now we are nine days into the new year I think a lot of people already have failed (again) to quit smoking.

Note that I don't smoke myself and never did. I find it a disguisting habit. Everyone that is trying to quit, good luck! Life is so much better without smoking!

Start off the new year with a resolution for more relaxation time. For me, reading is the best way to relax. It's the only way I can get my mind to let go of the things of this world. A good book provides an escape that even an expensive vacation cannot replace, but it's easy to get sidetracked and not set aside the time for reading when you have a hefty to-do list. To stay dedicated, consider organizing a book club with a few close friends. Build a fire at the hearth, serve luxurious coffees and teas and just take time to enjoy the opportunity to discuss your reading material with friends who are on the same page, so to speak.

The center spread is left for my thoughts at the mid-year point.

My New Year's Resolution is to eat more strawberry biscuits from Hardee's! Quite possibly the best breakfast food known to man!

And for Today's Random Fact: I have a bit of an obsession with these. Seriously, it's disturbing. Read the ode to biscuits posted in the comments. ;-)

I'll post a couple of my odes to them later today.

I resolve to consume less of this.....

side note:

This shot totally did not work the way I wanted it to. So, I resolve to get this damn shot right.... I wanted to catch the embossed Coca~Cola on the side of the glass, sigh.. but totally missed..

...a good set of resolutions for anyone, any age!
