Our New Year resolutions with a difference.
Jar one has 12 'do' notes - nice things like days trips, baking together, playing games and spending time at the park. Jar two has 12 'try' notes - things we need to try harder at like 5 portions of fruit and veg every day, eating at the dining table and being more active.
This was our January 'try' - it's not going to be easy, we have tubs and tubs of sweets left from Christmas.

This was my second attempt of night photography.
It is really fun to go alone to a wood to try something like this. Specially if it happens the first hours of the year, when everybody else is partying.
I must admint that it can be a bit daunting being alone, trying a scary photo. Your mind can start playing games!

Hereios - New Years Resolution
I've learned to be realistic with my resolutions each year. I've given up on those impossible resolutions (lose weight, get more energy, find a girlfriend), so at the start of the year, I start thinking about places I want to go during the year. Naturally, the big trip is the summer vacation, and like I said earlier in the week, now that I'm not afraid of flying, that's opened me up to travel farther (and in less time). So where is it that I hope to go next summer?

No sunset options tonight due to grey sky, so I thought I'd get an early start on my New Year's Resolution list. Not going so well.
To make the most of time. Use more of it and use it well.
I'm getting back into an old habit of getting up early and getting things done. It means I get 2 hours of non-work work done before work work. Then dog walk. Then hearty breakfast. Then work (or, in today's instance, a quick flickr). All at much more of a relaxed pace - and I start the working day feeling like i've already accomplished something. Yay!
And the alarm clock is a light based one. I dislike all the marketing rubbish behind 'dawn simulations', I just hate waking up suddenly to beeps in a panic. It took ages to find a light clock that didn't look totally like a piece of plastic rubbish that someone would design in ADT at school. This almost gets the design right (3 buttons! That's at least 10 less than my old alarm clock), but it still looks pretty cheap :).
