This star attraction in July night sky compelled me to spend couple of hours after 10 PM by the side of farm fields, an hour drive north to avoid light pollution. The next opportunity to see it again will be 7000 years from now; who knows humanity may not exist by then.
I have never done an astrophotography, so I made a lot of blunders. At the end, after stacking 9 images, each taken at 5s exposure and 3200 ISO using a 300mm2.8 lens on a D5 produced this image. I used Deep Sky Stacker software to stack 9 images. I had to crank up the brightness in post processing to see both ion and dust tails. The ion tail is slightly bluish in color and goes straight out, because the charged particles in the tail follow the magnetic lines of the sun and as well as the comet itself. Whereas the dust tail is somewhat diffuse and it curves to the right due to variation of gravitational forces on different sized particles in the dust tail. The greenish coma or halo around the nose of the comet is created by the sun light striking the nucleus of the comet and melting the outer core into gas and dust. July 23, 2020. Minesing, Ontario

This was my first attempt to capture the NEOWISE comet last night. I don't take many night shots so everything was pretty much an experiment. The comet was very low on the horizon and I was unable to see it without doing a time exposure and then looking at the photo. I wasn't real satisfied with the results but at least I can say I got it.
Comet NEOWISE was still quite bright on 2020-07-19 and a glorious site under dark skies. I captured this nightscape near Goldendale, WA using two 45 second exposures, one with star tracking enabled for the sky and another with it disabled for a crisp foreground. The natural contrast between comet, sky and trees made for a compelling black and white composition.
Yay! I finally managed to get the comet Neowise in the sky at the same time I was outside and the sky was clear! I think I've been having trouble viewing it with the Honda plant creating a lot of light in the sky where the comet was. Tonight I drove out to Rushsylvania and they have darker skies to the north. This was shot just a few miles outside of Rushsylvania, OH.

Pentax K3II with Pentax DFA 100 mm/2.8 macro. 18 shots, 30' exposure each, tracking with Pentax Astrotracer, plus 3 dark frames. 2.500 ISO.
The Kitchener/Waterloo skyline at sunset, as seen from McLennan park.
While waiting to photograph comet C/2020 F3 NEOWISE, I took some time to test out my gear on a sunset. The hill at the centre of McLennan Park, colloquially known as Mount Trashmore, is one of the higher points within the city of Kitchener's boundaries, and is a popular spot for people to watch the sunset.
Shot using a Pentax K-x body equipped with a Pentax S-M-C/Super Takumar 300 mm F4 M42 screw mount lens. Sturdied using a Manfrotto tripod. Lens aperture unrecorded.
Opportunities of capturing a bright comet are sparse, so take your chances the next couple of nights.....
This is my first time photographing stars. The comet NEOWISE is a good reason to start experimenting with this type of photography. Still a lot to learn, but is was a nice experience in a beatifull place in the provance of Groningen.
From the archives, Comet Neowise in 2020 as seen in pre-dawn hours over wine country, northern California.
On the right side is beautiful Mount Saint Helena.
