“Neither a person nor a nation can exist without some higher idea. And there is only one higher idea on earth, and it is the idea of the immortality of the human soul, for all other ‘higher’ ideas of life by which humans might live derive from that idea alone.”
-Fyodor Dostoevsky, A Writer’s Diary

We ignore and don't acknowledge the miracles that are happening in our lives because we like them to happen according to our own desires. Most of these miracles don't need to be thought, neither needed to be asked for because they are readily given by God. Life itself is the biggest miracle, so let us not waste it. - Francis -

Continuing my "Critters In Winter" series, here's a beetle sauntering along the ice in February. Not exactly attractive, this one, but it attracted my attention. Who knew? And where was it going? And to do what? And why?
There's nothing to eat out there in February; there's no one to mate with. But there it was, activated by unseen forces, marching across a frozen wasteland like Sir John Franklin's crew after their ships went down in the Arctic in 1848.
As I recall, this was a cold day. I walked along the frozen Frenchman River, unconcerned about the ice cracking. It was a solid mass. I didn't last very long out there, and - I'm sure - neither did the beetle.

Rain hangs about the place, like a friendly ghost. If it’s not coming down in delicate droplets, then it’s in buckets; and if neither, it tends to lurk suspiciously in the atmosphere.
“There are neither raptures, nor ecstasies, nor transports of bliss in the pleasures of the table; but they make up in duration what they lose in intensity, and are distinguished above all by the merit of inclining us towards all the other pleasures of life, or at least of consoling us for the loss of them.”

This is not a rare orchid, but neither is it that common, at least, in this area. In the words of an early naturalist:
"We shall never forget the moment when our eyes first fell on its blossom in the lonely depths of a sphagnum bog. The feeling was irresistible that we had surprised some strange, sentient creature in its secret bower of moss; that it was alert and listening intently with pricked-up ears."

Deep neath the Earth surface in the Halls of Amenti
sit the Seven, the Lords of the Cycles,
aye, and another, the Lord from below.
Yet know thee that in Infinity there is
neither above nor below.
But ever there is and ever shall be
Oneness of All when all is complete.
Oft have I stood before the Lords of the All.
Oft at the fount of their wisdom have drunken and
filled both my body and Soul with their Light.

Until the 19th Century, most of the local economy of Altnau revolved around three-field agriculture. About 1880 a dairy company was founded in the village, and livestock and cheese production became common. Viticulture was common from the middle ages until 1912. In 1840 the Seestrasse (Lake Road) was built, and in 1870, the Seetalbahn (railroad line) was added. However, neither the road or the railroad led to a boost in the local economy, as the station was too far away.

▶ "Zantedeschia is a genus of eight species of herbaceous, perennial, flowering plants in the family Araceae, native to southern Africa and introduced on all continents except Antarctica. Common names include arum lily and calla lily, although members of the genus are not true lilies of Liliaceae, not true Arums, and not true Callas! The colorful flowers and leaves of both species and cultivars are greatly valued and commonly grown as ornamental plants."

Time isn't real. Neither are zombies, hopefully. Though, I could be full of shit on all accounts.
I wanted to get some more of my dingy colours out before I am back to a colour explosion for all next month. I'll be blogging for a few upcoming events, which I will talk about more on future posts! In a few days, there will be the Something Extra inaugural event for Femboy-styled items, and in less than two weeks, the Crystal Heart Festival will be back again for this year's event! Gird your wallets.
For now, you can still run around to a few events, like Limit8 and get this sweet mask from Azoury (along with a limited brown version!) and this great collar and headpiece over at Sense from Zibska! Feel free to get creative. Get rides over on my blog!

BERNIE: "Oh.... well.... if you insist Bingo.... but, then, we should cut another slice and share it too" ...
BINGO: "Good idea Bernie"... "that way we get to have two slices each"...
BERNIE: "Uhm.... but, Bingo..if we cut another full slice in half ..and, we had only half a slice to begin with ... we're still having only one full slice each"...
BINGO: "huh??" ....
BERNIE: ..."Never mind ... let's just eat a slice quick.... before somebody shows up and we get shooed off the counter top"... "where's the butter??" "...and, don't get any on your furs"...

Has anyone else been feeling it recently? Not sure if it’s too many Geomagnetic Storms, Schumann spikes or so much global political uncertainty. Not sure if I am feeling my age or just more sensitive to the ground beneath my feet, this proud Gen X’er with so much wisdom, too much to say and too few younger ears to listen to it. Whilst I am not one to wish my life away, I do really wish it was Spring already, I am no fan of April, where one experiences all four seasons in a day and whatever jacket you wear, you’re either sweating or shivering.
Hence the photo, I’m hooked toward the future but affixed to the past where hence I came, still, for all that, one doesn’t lose the zest for life, more so wondering where my focus should be so the energy can flow. Time will tell; it always does!
I hope everyone is well and so as always, thank you! 😊

I don't know why some people ridicule the faith and blame God of what happened to them. But look, if they haven't known Him, neither they've been eager to seek Him, then why should God be blamed for their shitty predicaments.
If I were to answer the question... definitely, they deserve it, even more!

The little prince protects his rose…
The rose is hope. The rose is love. The rose is light.
There is so much fear in our world right now, hitting us from all corners, from politicians to the news to social media. It seeps into every part of our lives, creating a fertile ground for seeds of division, isolation, and hate. It’s a path towards darkness. And in darkness, fear grows. It becomes the way we see the world.
But we have a choice.
I’m going to choose a different path. I’m going to continue to create and spread the seeds of hope, love, and light. And, like the little prince, I believe those are worth protecting.
Keep shining your light, my friends.
Tried my best to nail down this Common Blue aberration, but to no avail. Neither the county recorder nor Butterfly Conservation have come back with an answer, (well that's not true, Butterfly conservation said it's a Common blue... I ask you)...
So who knows... I'll get back to you on this one...
Well we were further up the Chilliwack Valley and decided to take a right on some random 4x4 road in chase of a distant peak. Neither of us knew what we were in for. The road got icy and the temperature fell well below 0. We chased until the road was too overgrown to continue. This was the view of Mt Redford we were greeted with. Keep exploring. Kris...
Neither of my two cats particularly like being under covers, which I like because I don't accidentally sit on them. Tikki loves snuggling in rumpled blankets though. I made a few tries at 'tucking her in" when she was napping on bedclothes, with different degrees of her approval. Happy Caturday 6 March 2021, "Cushions, blanket and cover" (with emphasis on the 'cover' part.)
After spending the night playing around Mt.Rainer, we ventured into the fog down below. Like a blanket to the Sunday snoozer, it stuck against the landscape tight! Even though neither of us could hold our eyes open, the sight of this phenomenon instantly put energy drink sales at a stand still....

The field of figures (Figurenfeld) is a sculpture field located on a meadow on a slope near Eichstätt. It consists of 78 mostly larger-than-life figures by the sculptor and painter Alois Wünsche-Mitterecker (1903-1975).
The artist wanted to create a "monumentum perpetuum", a memorial for eternity, a warning against war, in which there are no victors and vanquished. The construction of the figures lasted from 1958 until the artist's death in 1975. The field of figures is unfinished and since 1976, it is listed as a historical monument.
The field of figures is reminiscent of a battlefield. The figures are arranged in a disorderly, almost chaotic way: The field has no central starting point and no clear routing. The sculptures show fighters and victims - falling, crawling and lying on the ground. There are no winners and no losers. The memorial is inspired by the artist's war experiences.
The sculptures are made of a specially developed concrete mixture. The material, was added granite and basalt grains. The additions "have given the sculptures a color and texture that increasingly resembles the appearance of the surrounding boulders in their aging process.
The field of figures is embedded in the sparse Jura landscape of the so-called Hessental, overgrown only with heather grass, hedges and juniper bushes, full of hollows and hills, which contributes to the impression of a battlefield.
... just a bit low-res instead...
Hey guys, I'm having some super-time consuming (thus quite busy) stuff going on around here... at times I can't even find a spare minute to edit/upload it here.
I apologize for the lack of content lately, this sure would be resolved in time. Stay tuned!
Thank you for your continued support, it means a lot to me!

I tried for multiple mornings to get a good set of images of the male Northern Harrier hunting.
The first day I went out there, I located the nest sight and the hunting field. The next morning I finally put my camo lenshide to good use.
The results turned out too good to be true as I got few extremely close by flying images. He was so close that 80% of the frames had clipped wings. Got him hovering and scratching his face.
However, he was never successful to catch anything close to my hiding spot. There were plenty of prey around as I saw them running here and there.
I tried next many mornings but neither the weather nor the raptors worked out in my favor. Saw plenty of food delivery, hunting, etc; but none materialized in a good image.
Now the five chicks have fledged and left the nest area, so I have to wait for next year to try my luck once again.

"I must pray more and more for courage, as I certainly have neither the courage or strength to follow the path that is certainly my duty now.
With the fears and rages, that possess many confused people, if I say things that seem to threaten their interests or conflict with obsessions, then I will surely get it.
I need patience to listen, to learn, to try to understand, and courage to take all the consequences and be really faithful.
This alone is a full-time job.
I dread it, but it must be done, and I don't quite know how.
To save my soul, by trying to be one of those who spoke and worked for Peace, not for madness and destruction."

While neither bear my favorite paint schemes that have emerged from the shops in Owosso, somewhat fresh paint that is clean is usually hard to beat. Set up for their moment in the lights, GLC 393 sits outside the Owosso Shops next to the oddball painted GLC 382. A long afternoon of prep work by Steven McKay and Jim Guest while I wandered around after finishing my somewhat simple tasks made for a fantastic evening of shooting from all three of us that pushed my lights to their limits and consistently challenged my light placements.
........ and once again, neither the background illustration or the picture of this fine looking ‘32’ Auburn are the products of my efforts. My only part in this digital display is the mating of these two pictures together.

A dream come true... after several year looking for a wild individual, I finally was able to see and photograph two of them at Serra da Canastra - Minas Gerais. This is a male. More to pictures in due course!
Facts: The maned wolf (Chrysocyon brachyurus) is a large canine of South America. It is found in Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Peru, and Paraguay, and is almost extinct in Uruguay. Its markings resemble those of foxes, but it is neither a fox nor a wolf. It is the only species in the genus Chrysocyon (meaning "golden dog").
It is the largest canine in South America, weighing 20–30 kg (44–66 lb) and up to 110 cm (43 in) at the withers. Its long, thin legs and dense reddish coat give it a distinct appearance. The maned wolf is a crepuscular and omnivorous animal adapted to the open environments of the South American savanna, with an important role in the seed dispersal of fruits, especially the wolf apple (Solanum lycocarpum). The maned wolf is a solitary animal. It communicates primarily by scent marking, but also gives a loud call known as "roar-barking". This mammal lives in open and semi-open habitats, especially grasslands with scattered bushes and trees, in the Cerrado of south, central-west, and southeastern Brazil; Paraguay; northern Argentina; and Bolivia east and north of the Andes, and far southeastern Peru (Pampas del Heath only). It is very rare in Uruguay, possibly being displaced completely through loss of habitat. The International Union for Conservation of Nature lists it as near threatened, while it is considered a vulnerable species by the Brazilian Institute of Environment and Renewable Natural Resources. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maned_wolf
I'm glad to be back with many new achievements!
