My first look at the 2 piece Brave Angus and Merida Doll Set. It was released by the Disney Store on Monday May 14, 2012 online and in stores, along with many other Brave merchandise. It's cost is $39.50 US.

The set consists of the Princess Merida, who is a fully poseable 11.5'' doll in her blue formal dress, carrying a bow and arrow, and her faithful companion Angus, a 12.5'' tall black plush horse doll. Angus is 13.5'' to the top of his ears and is 15'' long. He has white hair on his nose and hooves, and neighs for a few seconds when his nose is pressed.

First I photographed the set in the unopened box. Then with the dolls taken out of the box, but still attached to the inner cardboard backing, which slides out of the box like a tray. Finally, the dolls were fully deboxed, and posed separately and together.

Except that one, she stays up singing until early hours.

What a night-mare.

Dolly (to the left) and Stella (to the right) also heard the new horse neigh from a neighboring field. Only difference is, they understood perfectly what he said.

Dolly: Would you believe that man!?

Stella: I thought that was kind of sweet.

Dolly: I'm sure you did dear. Now don't you trust a word he says. He's new on the block and only want's to show off. Any mare with her right senses would see right through that.

Stella: I have a soft spot for palominos, you know that.

Dolly: Uh hu, we all know that. That's why I'm telling you now. Stay away from him. Any stud named Dallas is bad news…

Stella: Oh, ok. But he is our new neighbor. One should be nice to ones neighbors right?

Dolly: Absolutely not. He'll take it as an invite and.... Did you curl your mane before we went out?

Stella: …………….. No.

Found abandoned by a young neighbor 3 days ago. The girl's parents would not allow the dogs to stay in their home for more than a few hours, so, along with another neighbor we took them to my vet for check-up and vaccinations. They are being dewormed, are mange free, and have been treated for a huge flea infestation. We were able to get a rescue group (K-9 Angels) to sponsor them. They will be available for adoption once they have had their second round of vaccinations, in the meantime my neighor who shared the cost of vetting with me is fostering them.

Merida is posing alone, in her formal teal (light blue-green) dress with gold trim and gold sash. She is carrying a bow and arrow set. I found this doll's shoulder joints rather stiff.

The Adventure Merida and Formal Merida 11'' dolls from the Disney Store are taking aim at the same target. Adventure Merida is wearing the satin cape of the 12'' Mother Gothel doll. They are joined by the 4 1/2'' Transforming Triplet Princes, and by the 12 1/2'' Plush Angus with Sound.

I will call the Merida Doll from the Brave Angus and Merida Doll Set the Formal Merida, as she is wearing the teal formal dress. The separately sold Classic Merida I will call Adventure Merida, as she is wearing the dark green adventure dress. Since these two dolls are identical except for their outfits, I think of them as twins.

Burchell's Zebras do not neigh like horses, but make a yipping or barking sound. They also whinny, snort and bray like a donkey. They use various sounds to communicate with their members of the herd. Zebras also use their ears to convey messages. This one was photographed in South Africa in the Greater Kruger National Park on June 16, 2019. Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge.

🇬🇧 The female zebra is known as a zebrella and the young as a zebra.

A member of the equidae family, the zebra neighs, wears hooves and a mane, and stands on long, thin legs fitted with a joint-locking system that allows it to doze upright. In reality, the zebra has everything in common with a horse, with two exceptions: its striped coat and its indocile nature.

At the start of its embryonic development, the little zebra is entirely black! The white stripes appear a little later during gestation. Each zebra has its own unique stripes, a veritable identity card.

The stripes run vertically down the back and around the neck, and horizontally across the legs and head.

The adult body measures between 220 and 270 cm in length and 130 to 160 cm in height, and can weigh up to 300 to 400 kg depending on the species.

Dominant stallions defend territories where females go to mate. After a gestation period of around 400 days, the female gives birth to a single calf.

We are cloud chasers,

Eagle trackers, stream stomping,

Forest folk.

We are wind talkers,

Meadow dancers, cliff gazers,

Campfire coffee drinking sunrise greeters.

We love a saddle squeek,

A nicker neigh, a mane toss.

A saucy tail flag and a snort.

Ears perked forward, moving out,

Clip of hoof clops in your head.

Feel the rein, foot in stirrup

Oh the sway sway of a slow lope.

TRUST, FREEDOM. JOY.

So many moments, so many miles,

so many trails, so many smiles.

Just you, and some very special friends.

Happy Trails!

It's that time of year, Horse Flies (Clegs) have hatched. Such amazing eyes. They inflect a very painful bite but I think I'd rather have these beasties bite occasionally than the plague of Midges we endured every day in the Summer back in Co. Cork. This one was quite happy resting on Martin's newly painted fence panels that now hide our unsightly oil tank HFF & HFDF!

Gracie and Gem are Gady's most prize possesions. Without Gracie to pull her caravan, Gady knows that her life would be very different.

Formal Merida and Adventure Merida are taking aim at the same target. They are joined by Angus, who is looking on.

The Disney Store's Brave Angus and Merida Doll Set is posed with other Disney dolls. The set was released, with other Brave merchandise, on May 14, 2012.

I will call the Merida Doll from the set the Formal Merida, as she is wearing the teal formal dress. The separately sold Classic Merida I will call Adventure Merida, as she is wearing the dark green adventure dress. Since these two dolls are identical except for their outfits, I think of them as twins.

Another visit to Neigh Bridge Lake , and another fantastic sunset.
