This is Lomochrome Metropolis. From the first weekend of shooting with it back in February 2020. Of course first thing I did was point it at some blue hour neon. Camera scanned with an A7Riv, Negative Supply Co. 120 film carrier, and color conversion by NegativeLabPro. I can now digitize a roll of 120 in under three minutes. Using a 62 MP camera I can easily support 24x36 prints. Good enough for my needs.
No doubt that dogs like cars and this Corgi seemed to be enjoying his day out taking in all that was going on!

This is from the second of two rolls of expired film given to me. I shot this roll of Fuji Superia xtra 400 (expired in 2014) just for fun at a local state park back on 4/4/2021 with my Nikon FE and 35mm f/2. I developed this roll at home, "scanned" it with my DSLR and converted the negatives to positives using Negative Lab Pro. It was a nice and refreshing experience to just shoot this roll for fun, to notice my surroundings and try to capture whatever caught my eye (not knowing how it might turn out since it was expired and prepare myself that if it was a "complete loss" it wouldn't be the end of the world--at least I enjoyed the shooting experience). The developing and scanning process helped me to continue to grow in film photography and as a person as well. I'm thankful for what I've learned and for the many kind and gifted people in the film community who have shared their images and encouraged and inspired me to keep shooting film and learning. I can see a positive change in my view of my photos and that seems to match how I am changing as a person over time--less critical of myself and my photos, open to learning and growing as a person and a photographer, and more open to the beautiful imperfections both in myself and in my photos.

For quite some time I've entertained the idea of trying to process my own BW film at home....and finally I've decided to give it a go with this being one of the first images - taken at the Rongotea Car Show on Sunday, raising funds for the local hospice.

Yesterday was the annual Shannon car show, so I decided to take a Minolta and a roll of film I've never yet tried and see how I got on. A lot of people at the show and the grounds were packed with cars - so many turned up they had to turn quite a number of cars away!

One of the first images taken on my recently acquired Yashica Mat 124G. Exposure was set using the meter in the camera - I have read these are often inaccurate or not working at all. It appears this one is OK.

I struggled to get colours I was happy with using Negative Lab Pro for this roll. It usually works very well, but this roll was having none of it, hence the monochrome conversion for some of the frames.
Probably my favourite shot from this location, mainly because it puts all the elements into context of the wider scene.
It has even made to it an A3 size print and frame!
It would make a brilliant diorama for a skilled modelmaker to recreate.
