A shot taken on my 1950's Rolleicord VA TLR camera.

I've owned this camera for many years and never used it as it had a shutter speed issue, and I finally decided to get it serviced and repaired so it is useable once more. First image I've taken with it.

Built on water and secured in place by cribbing, the Newfoundland fishing stage is an ocean facing room where the fisherman transforms fresh cod into salt cod during the busy fishing seasons. With a declining fishery though, places like this are more likely used to store gear and to clean the odd catch during our food fishery.

I struggled to get colours I was happy with using Negative Lab Pro for this roll. It usually works very well, but this roll was having none of it, hence the monochrome conversion for some of the frames.

A very original 1969 Volkswagen Beetle with great patina and period accessories! Still in good legal road going condition - a car that could share many a tale of life on the road, I'm sure!

Would I shoot this on digital? I doubt it. But on film it feels so right to me. Maybe I'm crazy, I don't know but there it is. :-)

This is from the second of two rolls of expired film given to me. I shot this roll of Fuji Superia xtra 400 (expired in 2014) just for fun at a local state park back on 4/4/2021 with my Nikon FE and 35mm f/2. I developed this roll at home, "scanned" it with my DSLR and converted the negatives to positives using Negative Lab Pro. It was a nice and refreshing experience to just shoot this roll for fun, to notice my surroundings and try to capture whatever caught my eye (not knowing how it might turn out since it was expired and prepare myself that if it was a "complete loss" it wouldn't be the end of the world--at least I enjoyed the shooting experience). The developing and scanning process helped me to continue to grow in film photography and as a person as well. I'm thankful for what I've learned and for the many kind and gifted people in the film community who have shared their images and encouraged and inspired me to keep shooting film and learning. I can see a positive change in my view of my photos and that seems to match how I am changing as a person over time—less critical of myself and my photos, open to learning and growing as a person and a photographer, and more open to the beautiful imperfections both in myself and in my photos.

This little wooden building is the Gorge Quarter Store (gorgequarter.nz) and is a really delightful little coffee shop at the carpark for the Manawatu Gorge walks. The coffees were great!

I recently purchased a second used A12 film back for my Hasselblad 500 C/M and took a few shots with it to make sure it had no light leaks and wound on correctly etc which it appears to do so! Having two backs will allow having two films loaded as well as the ability to swap from colour to BW, even mid roll.

Looking down the Manawatu Gorge. This is taken a little way in walking along the old and now closed gorge road - lots of rock slips and amazing how quickly nature is reclaiming things! This image has a nice timeless feel to it I think and on the left is the still in use railway and on the right in the distance the line of part of the old gorge road can be seen.

Fort Langley’s original Paddle wheeler plied the Fraser River in British Columbia from 1863 until 1921. It carried everyone from pioneers, fur traders, gold rush miners, and family passengers from the communities along the Fraser River, these working boats were vital connections between B.C. communities and peoples along the Fraser River. Today the beautiful MV Native continues to travel those same waters today carrying tourists and anyone wanting a view of the Fraser River from a very historic perspective. This photo was shot on a beautiful vintage Leica iii dating back to the 1940’s with Ilford HP5 film.
