Le Hibou moyen-duc s’alimente dans des herbages , prairies , pâturages et marais . Il niche dans des broussailles , des bosquets et des parcelles forestières adjacentes . Les nids sont presque toujours d’anciens nids de corbeaux , de pies bavardes ou d’éperviers. Les petits mammifères , en particulier les campagnols ( Microtus ) , constituent l’essentiel de ses proies , lesquelles peuvent comprendre quelques petits oiseaux .

The Long -Eared Owl feeds in grasslands , meadows , pastures and marshes . It nests in scrub , groves and adjacent forests patches . The nests are almost always former nests of crows , magpies or hawks . Small mammals particularly voles ( Microtus ) , constitute the majority of its prey , which can also include some small birds !

C’est un petit limicole au corps brun , reconnaissable à son collier noir et à son bec court , qui est orange et noir en été , et noir en hiver .

It is a small wader with a brown body , recognizable by its black collar and short beak , which is orange and black in summer , and black in winter .
