Eigentlich wollte ich Blaukehlchen im Moor fotografieren, dass ein oder andere hatte ich auch entdeckt, doch sie hielten sich recht weit von mir entfernt auf. Ich beschloss wieder nach Hause zu radeln als plötzlich der Nerz genau vor mir auftauchte und mich verwundert ansah.
Ich dachte im ersten Moment es sei ein Fischotter, was mich auch sehr gefreut hätte. Mit einem Nerz hatte ich definitiv nicht gerechnet.
Also drückte ich erst einmal auf den Auslöser ohne irgendwelche Einstellungen zu beachten, dass erklärt auch die 10000 ISO.

So let us marvel, as we see,
This acrobat of the wood,
For in its grace, so wild and free,
The gray squirrel lives as it should.

Had a drive around Clywedog reservoir this evening, spotted these three lambs playing on an old drystone wall, Powys, Wales, UK

Jedes Jahr wieder...
Den Kaktus habe ich vor genau 21 Jahren bei Aldi gekauft. Damals war er gerade mal 10cm hoch und befand sich in einem kleinen Mini-Blumentopf. Leider fiel er wenige Tage später hinter einen Schrank und kam erst zwei Jahre später beim Auszug aus der Wohnung wieder zu Tage. Als Naturfreund gab ich ihm natürlich die Chance, sich nach zwei Jahren in Dunkelheit und ohne Wasser, zu regenerieren. In der neuen Wohnung bekam er dann eine große Ladung frisches Regenwasser. Schon nach wenigen Tagen konnte man sehen, dass er größer geworden ist und wieder Farbe bekommen hatte.
Die ersten Blüten bekam er 11 Jahre später und hatte damals schon etliche Ableger bekommen und ein stattliches Gewicht. Im September 2007 kamen 16 dieser wunderschönen weißen Blüten zum Vorschein, die einen sehr feinen und süßlichen Duft von sich geben.
Zur Pflege: Im Winter steht er im Warmen und Trockenen und bekommt in dieser Zeit kein Wasser. Erst im Frühjahr, kommt er nach draußen und erstmals wieder Wasser. Das Ergebnis ist hier zu sehen.
Leider sind die Blüten nach einem Tag wieder verblüht...

Red kites have a rusty reddish-brown body with a deeply forked tail. Their head is pale grey and patterned with dark streaks, and they have a yellow beak with a dark hook and pale, striking eyes.
Their angular wings span 185cm. On the upper side they are red-brown at the shoulders with darker tips and edges, while underneath there are characteristic blocks of white before darker, fingered wing tips.
The leucitic,or "white" Red Kite photographed at Gigrin farm, Rhayader. It's unusual colour is caused by a rare genetic mutation which prevents normal pigmentation of the feathers resulting in predominantly white or pale plumage.

Cader Idris consists of a massive 11km long ridge and although only the 19th highest mountain in Wales it is the second most popular mountain in the country after Yr Wyddfa/Snowdon.
The mountain range looms menacing over the surrounding landscape,the actual summit of Cader Idris is called Penygadair.
