Whilst Elena and Nate are being all domestic in the Uncharted 4 trailers, everyone seems to want to tell me that Drake is in for an untimely end. Is that just too predictable? Anyway, young widowhood may be on the horizon for Ms Fisher (but then again, she's probably pretty used to the idea by now).
No costume yet; I haven't quite decided how I'll dress her - thinking of making her costumes from the first and third games.
The lost face volume is bothering me, as Elena in the game has a somewhat angular face with a strong jaw. I may have to build it back up with polymer clay. We shall see.

*SPOILER ALERT FOR UNCHARTED 4*
So... I was all worried that something untoward would happen to one of the characters in Uncharted 4... completely unnecessarily! Everyone came out unscathed, and the ending was so lovely.
As for my figures? I actually prefer them having played the game; maybe I've got used to them, but I'm happier with the likenesses now. Certainly Drake poses much more naturally in his current incarnation than he did in his last one, and looks a leetle bit younger, I think.
Different Drake iterations. I should probably add Homebrew!Nate Mark 1, but his wonkiness is possibly more upsetting than Sideshow!Nate (before reshaping).
I had the guys draped around the computer while I was painting the Simm heads, and rather liked the naturalism of the posing.
Status of the Uncharted costumes - not complete. I'm in the middle of trying to move house at the moment, so there won't be nearly so much dollying time for a little while, sadly. However, Elena now has some trousers, as I felt bad about her sitting around half naked. She stole her boots from Hunger Games Peeta, and until she gets her proper game accurate shirt, she's still wearing the Barbie fashion pack top.
Nate is still as he was, though he's somehow lost most of his shirt buttons. Oh well; that's what you get for adventuring.
I've been looking for a suitable body for Elena Fisher, who is in all four of the Uncharted games along with Drake and Sully (who I think is also getting a Soldier Story bod). If the problem with Drake and Sully is that they look too much like ordinary guys, then the problem with Elena is she looks like an ordinary woman - fairly slight, small boobs. The Soldier Story male bodies are the best I've found so far for your average (non-gym bunny) guy, but their female bodies are awful.
Bearing in mind my stinginess, the only real options available were 1) Kumik; 2) Play Toy; and 3) fashion doll of some kind. I'm kind of loath to use a fashion doll bod (e.g. Barbie) as the guys are going to be more realistically proportioned, so that left the other two. Given that Elena isn't exactly early Lara Croft in the bosoms department, I needed a small busted body, whichever I chose. But it seems there isn't really any such thing! I ordered the Play Toy small bust Caucasian body in AliExpress, as it was the only place I could find it at a decent price, and it arrived at work today. My colleagues were impressed with the articulation (and squishy silicone torso), but remarked that the boobs were really big. And this is allegedly the small bust!
Come on, action figure making people. Can we have some little flat-chested bods, please?
All in all - I'm thinking it's Play Toy; the body has better articulation, and a more natural bust line.
Big update on the site today! Here are some minifigs I've had on the backburner for a long time, inspired by Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception.
Nate Mark II, borrowing my Sideshow Nate's body for effect. (He looks all sweaty because he just had a glaze, and he hasn't been sealed yet).
This last month or so of work has been especially sucky. I ended up pulling an all-nighter this weekend to finish a piece of work, but finally - a spot of respite on the horizon...
So I was full of hubris about Sideshow Nathan Drake, and thinking I could do better. Big talk. Ordered Sculpey Firm on eBay. It was sitting on my desk when I got back to the office this afternoon, and I was itching to have a play.
First thoughts? I like how this clay handles; I've never actually used it before. I'm attempting Drake from the Uncharted 4 sculpts; this is night one's progress. Watch this space.
Also: anyone out there able to suggest how I might go about fitting him a neck to a body...?
Brace yourselves: there's a buttload of portraits on the way, 'cause NECA's Uncharted Nathan Drake figure is badass!
More head sculpting fun. I'm quite pleased with how he's coming on (though getting the face symmetrical is a bummer).
He's going into the fridge for a bit, while I make a start on Sully. :p
Not my photo; just a reference picture for anyone wondering who's that dude that keeps turning up in my photostream. I can't get over how amazingly real Uncharted 4 Drake looks...
This was the kind of look I was going for. I'm not a fan of eyes looking straight ahead in general anyway, but this was a decent shot of the character as he appears in Uncharted 3.
He's not finished yet, but we're getting there. Drake is probably the most famous Henley shirt wearer of the fictional world, which is something of a bummer, since that collar is damned annoying to make. I think this is a good start, but I'm thinking of having another go to make it more accurate. He also needs some proper trousers (he's wearing Disney Store Flynn Rider ones at the moment).
All accessories nicked from Sideshow!Nate while he waits on his own.
Looking at the pictures, I realised some issues with Homebrew!Nate 3.0, so I took his paint off, did a little resculpting, and had another go.
Taking these pictures made me realise yet more things that annoy me, but isn't that always the way?
In other news: I saw Drake flailing on the side of a London bus on the way to work this morning. Now I can actually believe that this game will finally come out. Eventually. :p
