So, so much happier with Nate mark 2. I know that's easier said than done before the painting starts, but I'm hopeful. I'm starting the costume too.
Can't wait for the weekend; this work week has been sucky to the extreme.
Not quite there yet (no sealants or final layers), but getting there.
I believe this is one of the special edition Drakes (that came with the huge spider); mine wasn't one of those, and think this edition was actually in slightly better shape than mine.
Thoughts, Rich?
This last month or so of work has been especially sucky. I ended up pulling an all-nighter this weekend to finish a piece of work, but finally - a spot of respite on the horizon...
So I was full of hubris about Sideshow Nathan Drake, and thinking I could do better. Big talk. Ordered Sculpey Firm on eBay. It was sitting on my desk when I got back to the office this afternoon, and I was itching to have a play.
First thoughts? I like how this clay handles; I've never actually used it before. I'm attempting Drake from the Uncharted 4 sculpts; this is night one's progress. Watch this space.
Also: anyone out there able to suggest how I might go about fitting him a neck to a body...?
I finally finished my #SixFanarts for the #SixFanartsChallenge! Tried to vary my style a bit for each one, to experiment. Some turned out better than others. Full images on my Patreon. Enjoy!

Elena as she appears in the Uncharted 4 multiplayer, and my version. She needs to be a tad blonder, and I might replace some of the jaw volume she seems to have lost, but I'm pretty pleased with her.
This figure? Awesome costume; pretty awesome looking prototype; distinctly dodgy looking production head. Poor Drake looks like he's got a dental abscess as he comes out of the box. I boiled his head, did some reshaping, and repainted him.
The Boy is somewhat despairing of all the casting equipment that I seem to be bringing home these days...
Having cast Elena, I wanted to cast a resin head for Nate too; it's that bit sturdier, and his hair was apt to chip at the slightest knock given he's made of polymer clay.
I'm really not very good at making moulds, sadly. Nate's had quite a few flaws: some small bubbles in the eyes and nose, and a huuuuge one that lost him his chin. However, that one was easily fixed with some polymer clay, whilst I carved out the smaller bubbles. I'm pleasantly surprised at how well the hair came out - every detail reproduced beautifully, and no breakage of the original (at least with the first mould I made; I'm now on my third, and the poor sod is currently submerged in green goo).
Next for Clone!Nate, paint - maybe I'll make him look a tad less miserable/pained this time.
A mock up for size purposes. I don't have any clothes designed for female action figures, so the Play Toy bod is wearing some Disney Store Flynn Rider trousers (isn't it odd how I have a ton of those?), and a Barbie fashion pack top nicked from Hipstapunz's wardrobe.
I think she's going to be okay. Not sure how I'm going to handle the hair, though; Elena has a very distinctive hairstyle.
Also - check out the awesome hand! The Play Toy bodies come with eight different hands, including this v-sign one. In the Uncharted 4 multiplayer, you can actually do this as a taunt to your opponents and take a selfie. :p
"I once found El Dorado, and nearly released an evil upon the world!" Nate told Lara who just rolled her eyes at him. "Sounds fascinating Mr Drake, I once destroyed the Scion artifact, putting an end to an Atlantean invasion".
"I guess we'll have to call it a draw then huh, Lara" chuckled Nate, "Fancy another drink?".
After Laura Croft, probably one of the best memories I have of playing video games was with the Uncharted series.
Whilst Elena and Nate are being all domestic in the Uncharted 4 trailers, everyone seems to want to tell me that Drake is in for an untimely end. Is that just too predictable? Anyway, young widowhood may be on the horizon for Ms Fisher (but then again, she's probably pretty used to the idea by now).
No costume yet; I haven't quite decided how I'll dress her - thinking of making her costumes from the first and third games.
The lost face volume is bothering me, as Elena in the game has a somewhat angular face with a strong jaw. I may have to build it back up with polymer clay. We shall see.

*SPOILER ALERT FOR UNCHARTED 4*
So... I was all worried that something untoward would happen to one of the characters in Uncharted 4... completely unnecessarily! Everyone came out unscathed, and the ending was so lovely.
As for my figures? I actually prefer them having played the game; maybe I've got used to them, but I'm happier with the likenesses now. Certainly Drake poses much more naturally in his current incarnation than he did in his last one, and looks a leetle bit younger, I think.
