Lodges in Namibia can be very expensive - so we decided to rent a car with a rooftop tent! There are some great campsites in Namibia, with private bathroom and kitchen area. In some places it felt like we were the only ones there, and some of them had showers better than in the hotels we stayed in!
This shot is from a campsite near Sossusvlei, in the Namib Desert in southern Namibia. I used a tripod and long exposure to capture the stars better - although even with the naked eye they were almost as bright as this!

Sure looks like Pycnothelia. Had seen in cool and damp Newfoundland - so different from warm and dry Namibia.
