As its name suggests, the red-eyed tree frog has red eyes with vertically narrowed pupils. It has a vibrant green body with yellow and blue, vertically striped sides. Its webbed feet and toes are orange or red. The skin on the red-eyed tree frog's belly is soft and fragile, whereas the back is thicker and rougher. Red-eyed tree frogs have sticky pads on their toes. They spend a majority of their lives in trees; they are excellent jumpers. Red-eyed tree frogs are not poisonous and rely on camouflage to protect themselves. During the day, they remain motionless, cover their blue sides with their back legs, tuck their bright feet under their bellies, and shut their red eyes. Thus, they appear almost completely green, and well hidden among the foliage.

For the today Theme on Macro Mondays The first letter of my name -A- I had not enough time to make a flowerpicture outside. I first wanted to fotograph a few asters in my sisters garden. But I get home very late from work and it was already dark so I decided to fotograph my old analogue camera the Minolta Dynax 3xi. HMM

Small unnamed arch on an unnamed ridge within a park and state (USA) that must not be named. I love finding these little gems that no one else pays attention to. This is not a very commercial approach, and I’m probably the worst business person in the world, 😂. People love photos of places they are familiar with, and that makes a lot of sense. I find that the places that are of the most interest to me are the ones that haven’t been photographed at night before, rather than the tourist spots (I’ve tried many of those also, lol). Anyway, here’s to all those remote places that no one cares about! 14-24 mm lens, 24 mm, f/2.8, 15 seconds, ISO 10,,000 (my Nikon D810A does remarkably well at high ISOs). Aptly named after Mount Potolaka, the sacred mountain abode of the Bodhisattva of Compassion, Avalokiteshvara, the Potala Palace has been identified in different ages as the residence of Tibet`s two illustrious and kingly emanations of Avalokiteshvara - Songtsen Gampo during the seventh century and the Fifth Dalai Lama during the 17th century. The building which towers above the city of Lhasa rises from the slopes of Mount Marpori, for which reason it is known locally as Tse Podrang "Summit Palace". The outer section, known as the White Palace has functioned as the traditional seat of government and the winter residence of the Dalai Lamas, while the inner section known as the Red Palace contains outstanding temples and the reliquary tombs of eight past Dalai Lamas. In terms of global perception, it is this relic of Tibet`s past, present, and future national aspiration which, more than any other, symbolizes the country of Tibet, like the great wall of China “Great Firewall of China” or the Vatican in Italy.
This 13-storeyed edifice was among the world`s tallest buildings prior to the advent of the 20th-century skyscraper, and undoubtedly the grandest building in Tibet.
The interior area of the 13-storeyed Potala Palace is 130.000 sq m. The building is 118 m high, 366 m from east to west, and 335 m from north to south. There are 1000 rooms housing approximately 200.000 images.
Traditinally the chapels of the Potala Palace were only open to the public on set days such as the fourth day of the sixth lunar month, and in the fourth lunar month. Now, in the absence of the Dalai Lama, it has the air of a (dead) museum, and is accessible throughout the week.

Not the easiest bird to get a good shot of as they are quick, wary and usually high up. Caught this one mid whip crack.
Scientific name: Psophodes olivaceus
The name Talkin comes from the Celtic name 'Talcan' which means brow of a hill. Tarn or 'Tjorn' is Norse for small teardrop lake.
Talkin Tarn was formed by the force of glaciers 10,000 years ago. The ice carved the landscape leaving the natural bowl which filled with water as the glaciers melted. The tarn is constantly topped up by natural freshwater springs which bubble up from below

Jesus came to bring spiritual LIFE to the spiritually dead and set the captives FREE! FREE from RELIGION, ERROR and outright LIES, so WE might serve THE LIVING GOD! In SPIRIT and in TRUTH!
So you'll KNOW, and not think you're to bad for God to love. The Christian LIFE isn't about how good WE are, because NONE of us are! It's about how GOOD JESUS IS! Because JESUS LOVES US, so much he died in our place and took the punishment for all of our sins on himself. The wages of sin is DEATH, and Jesus took the death WE so richly deserved for us and died in our place. The good news is, there's no more punishment for sin left. WE, you and I were all born forgive as a result of the crucifixion of God himself on the cross that took away the sins of the whole world. All we have to do is believe it, and put your Faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. That my friends is REAL UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! YOU ARE LOVED. ❤️ ✝️ ❤️

Named in honour of the French naturalist and ornithologist, Jean Victor Audouin (1797 – 1841) the Audouin’s gull is one of the world’s rarest and is limited in the main to regions within and surrounding the Mediterranean Sea.
It is a beautiful bird smaller and thinner than the herring gull. Once it is fully grown you can't mistake it when you see it because it's feathers are pearl grey, it has a beautiful, coral-red beak with a black tip at the end , Another unique characteristic it has is the lead-grey colour of its legs, very different to the yellow of the legs of the Mediterranean Herring Gull.

Yabba is the name of a number of geographical features in southeast Queensland: a river, a major waterfall, a road, a street, a valley, a range, a mountain and a forest. However, it originates from an aboriginal name for this flower and the deciduous tree that bears the flowers.
A 19th century grazier, Alexander Swanson, took up land on a plateau about 120 kms NNW of Brisbane, and in inquiring of local indigenous men of the Baiyambora clan, what the name of the distinctive and attractive tree was, he was told "Yabba". He thus named his sheepstation, "Yabba". In the early years, there were various spellings of the word such as Yabber, Yapper and Yappa, but as B and P are not differentiated in their language this is understandable. The name became fixed as "Yabba". As Swanson's "Yabba" was sited beside an unnamed river, the name was applied to it and its valley, and the track from "Yabba" to "Imbil", the next station 45 kms downstream, became the Yabba Road. Over the 175 years since Swanson took up his "run", the property has progressively been broken up into several grazing properties and much of his run is now either national park or state forest. As a result of family inheritance "Yabba" has been divided into "Yabba" and "Old Yabba", the latter containing the site of Swanson's original station.
The Yabba tree, Brachychiton discolor, is a unique tree. It is an Australian native that is deciduous shedding its leaves in mid-summer. Further, when in flower during the period when it lacks leaves, the flowers drop from the tree around the end of each day, and each morning a new flush of flowers appear. As it grows in riverine forests, its fallen flowers are often seen floating on the stream. In this photo, the Yabba flowers are floating on a tributary of Yabba Creek.

Black Kite
Scientific Name: Milvus migrans
Description: The Black Kite is a medium-sized raptor (bird of prey). From a distance, it appears almost black, with a light brown bar on the shoulder. The plumage is actually dark brown, with scattered light brown and rufous markings, particularly on the head, neck and underparts. The tail is forked and barred with darker brown. This feature gives the bird its alternative name of Fork-tailed Kite. The eye is dark brown and the bill is black with a yellow cere (area of skin around the nostrils). Both sexes are similar. Young Black Kites are generally lighter in colour than the adults, and have a comparatively shallower forked tail.
Similar species: The Black Kite's plumage is similar to other raptors (birds of prey), such as the Little Eagle, Hieraaetus morphnoides, Whistling Kite,Haliastur sphenurus, and Square-tailed Kite, Lophoictinia isura. In flight, however, its long forked tail and almost unmarked underwing make it unmistakable.
Distribution: The Black Kite's range covers the majority of the Australian mainland, as well as Africa, Asia and Europe. The Black Kite is arguably the most numerous species of raptor in the world.
Habitat: The Black Kite is found in a variety of habitats, from timbered watercourses to open plains, and is often observed in and around outback towns. Although it is more normally seen in small groups, the Black Kite may form huge flocks of many thousands of birds, especially during grasshopper plagues. No other Australian bird of prey is seen in such large flocks.
Feeding: The Black Kite preys on lizards, small mammals and insects, especially grasshoppers. It also is a scavenger, and frequents tips in outback towns. Black Kites also gather in flocks around bush fires, and eagerly pounce on small animals as these flee the flames. Both live and dead (carrion) prey is eaten.
Breeding: Black Kites nest in isolated pairs or in small, scattered colonies. As with other raptors, a ritualised aerial courtship display is performed by both sexes. This involves loud calling, grappling of feet (talons), and tumbling or cartwheeling. The nest is a bulky cup of sticks, lined with softer material, and is placed in the fork of a tree branch (generally close to the trunk). The female incubates the eggs while the male provides food.
Calls: The call is a descending whistle "psee-err" followed by a staccato "si-si-si-si-si".
