Keepers Newest Pilgrim Design!
After much interest, I decided to make another Pilgrim outfit.
This time I have tried to capture the true essence of a Colonial Pilgrim dress. It has proven to be quite the challenge due to the lack of historical pictures and descriptions available.
This early Colonial Pilgrim outfit consists of six pieces. Coif ( cap), ruff or falling band (collar), waist coat, chemise, apron and petticoat (skirt).
The waistcoat and petticoat are made from an olive green silk noil fabric. The waistcoat has a short peplum divided at center back. It is lined with a dark grey satin. The shoulder line is dropped with sleeve bands. Black mini buttons flank each side of the front and fasten together with a black looped trim. The plain floor length petticoat fastens with a single snap closure at the back of the waistband. The coif, falling band collar, chemise and apron are made from an ivory batiste. The chemise has a small standup collar, dropped shoulders with gathered sleeves and elasticized cuffs. The falling band collar or "ruff" is lightly gathered and ties in the front center with an ivory ribbon. The coif has an elasticized back and ties under the chin. The apron is long and narrow. It ties at the back waist.
Our newest member of the 'family'. Having adopted us over the past year and with Winter coming we decided to take the step of adopting him as well, rather than take the chance that he might well be sleeping out or rough over the winter nights. We had a meeting with his owners again and found that he rarely went home or indoors with them now, mainly because of the other cats they have. So we've been sharing him with them for the past year and a bit but with him spending so much time with us now it made more sense to make it official. This meant we could take proper care of him. Curled up on me in the mornings was his usual favourite place when he visited. Now he has his own proper 'doughnut' bed and sleeps there instead.
As the weather was going to be sunny but very windy, I thought I just had to make the most of it and went back to the Kent coast. I was looking again for Shorelark, that I had already failed to find on my previous trips to Norfolk and Kent. Did I get lucky this time? you will have to wait and see. This group of Sanderling were having a rest on the shoreline waiting for the tide to turn.
What a storm we had last night and more to come today. The rain was unbelievable. I hope everyone is OK.

our newest repaint is ex CP Rail GP9U # 1602. The 1602 just celebrated her 60th birthday last month having been built by GMD London in March 1958. Granite City, IL on April 12th 2018.
I had been trying to get one of these crates for a few years, but haven't had any luck until now! Thank you, Southern Park Mall Sears!!!
Pinnacles National Park, California.
This is America's newest national park. It is only 80 miles (128 km) south of the Silicon Valley. The park's namesakes are the eroded leftovers of the western half of an extinct volcano that has moved 200 miles (320 km) north from its original location on the San Andreas Fault.
The park has caves, California Condors and great hikes. It is also superb for rock climbing. In early Spring there are also beautiful wildflowers to enjoy.
Pinnacles National Monument was established in 1908 by President Theodore Roosevelt. On January 10, 2013, President Barack Obama signed a law that turned the monument into Pinnacles National Park.
Nothing can better exemplify the drastic shift of motive power on the eastern end of the former MEC better than these CSX ET23DCM's-- rebuilt SD40-2's with GE prime movers built to obtain Tier 4 emission standards. Here, 1727 and 1721 sit in NMJ on February 9th, awaiting a run to Mattawamkeag in the coming hours. Interestingly enough, they are waiting on power control to come up from Waterville after hitting something that damaged the front plow (presumably during the eastbound trip earlier in the day), the solution coming in the form of a cutting torch to take off the damaged section.
The newest, and easily the best-looking addition to the cities skyline. Though 15 meters shorter than the US Bank Center the Liebherr tower crane attached to the tower is currently the highest occupied structure in Wisconsin being a few feet taller than the US Bank Center. :)

In today's railroading scene, the newest power is usually reserved for the hottest trains on the line. In a representation of the current motive power state on Norfolk Southern, red hot train 213 rolls south through the plant at CP Spencer with an aging former Conrail SD60I leading an SD70ACe, a leased GECX C40-8W, and an SD40-2. The train left its originating terminal with just the two middle units, but the SD60I and SD40-2 were called up to pinch hit for the ailing SD70ACe.

Professor Pyg: the newest and most terrifying version yet.
Steel: heck yeah silver parts.
The Question: Captain Redbeard on IG made a version of this guy based on mine; I came back with a new hat and took the torso he used. bam.
Finally got this photo up...been trying for over and hour having crappy editing issues today!!! :P We went to the river today....5-6 and did some photographing. Having a hard time getting the quality I want from them too. Like I don't have the clearness of the owlets lovely yellow eyes!!! If I try lightening it up....it washes the owl out!!! Oh well...such is life! Here the baby is...looking more grown up all the time!!! The river is getting so high...hopefully has reached it's high point...if not, we'll be flooding and the park will be closed! :( Hope you're all well.
No new cases over here this week! :) It says May 5th on this image but it's today...not that it matters...but I try hard to keep all my days straight! LOL

Brown hares live in very exposed habitats, and they rely on acute senses and running at speeds of up to 70kph (45mph) to evade predators. Hares do not use burrows, but make a small depression in the ground among long grass - this is known as a form.
The newest acquisition into the Bear Buses fleet is Volvo B9TL 36140. New to First London, it was part of the batch used when First London took over operation of route 25 from Stagecoach London and converted the route from bendy bus operation back to standard deckers. It passed through to Tower Transit and spent its life at Lea Interchange before withdrawal in May 2020. Today was its debut in service with Bear Buses as it assisted on the emergency rail cover on the Metropolitan line between Uxbridge and Wembley Park. It’s pictured on York Road, Uxbridge as it heads back to Wembley Park.
The third MassDOT blue GP40MC MBTA 1125 is all polished up and ready for its first morning of revenue service as it sits on S3 inside the house at Boston Engine Terminal. If you squint just hard enough maybe you can imagine a McGinnis logoed blue Boston and Maine GP7 getting ready to take a string of demotored RDCs out of the 'Budd House.'
Just a quick cell phone shot while making my rounds at work early this morning thay I figured a few of you might enjoy. Originally built as a GP40-2LW in Mar. 1975 as CN 9545, she was rebuilt the first time by Alstom in 1997 to expand the fleet in conjunction with the start up of the Old Colony Lines. This is her second rebuild and was completed by a third party at the MassDOT contract shop in Wareham, MA.

Newest miniature project pretty much completed. Will add small things as I find them. Lindsey designed the vine covered frame so I could hang the chandelier.

Hi!
Today I want to present you my newest scene.
It shows how sad the fate of the warrior can be. Despite many battles and heroic actions, he was killed on the old and ruined mountain arena, so no one gonna find his old bones there. May he rest in peace now.
(NOTE: This photo, and all the others of this particular amaryllis have been cropped only. No other post-processing has been done.)
One of the newest Juniata rebuilds leads a short local down the former Pullman Company Railroad just south of 115th St. Although there are no more Pullmans to pick up and deliver, this branch sees some decent traffic for NS nowadays. What was once an independent operator, was transferred into the hands of the Rock Island in 1950. During that same decade, while Pullman declined sharply, the building of a Port on Lake Calumet was commencing. The many carriers in the region wanted access, and not be restricted to whatever terms the Rock would throw at them. Lawyers get involved....court cases commence....
Somehow at the end of all of that, enough time passes and the NS becomes the sole operator in the mid-80s. This has mostly remained true between Pullman Jct and the Ice House (roughly 124th St). From that point eastward towards the Port, South Shore Freight operates a couple days a week, manly overnight, to serve an area once fought over with the promise of big business.

Recently I’ve added a Canon EOS 2000D camera to my arsenal to help me in producing good photos. It’ll take me awhile to figure it out. It’s been some time since I’ve used a quality camera like this. Gratitude and Kindness will help my work to improve slowly. Thanks for viewing and commenting on my stream.
