I could not resist this 'postcard' view of the boats waiting to ferry visitors back from the fort at Janjira. DP2M and some SPP fill light to add interest to the clouds.

Situated on a rock of oval shape near the port town of Murud, 165kms south of Mumbai, Janjira is one of the strongest marine forts of India (the word ‘Janjira’ is a corruption of the Arabic word Jazira for island). The forts is approached by sailboats from Rajapuri jetty.

From Gateway of India a boat would take me to Alibagh from Alibagh a bus to Murud beach on Gudi Padwa to shoot the bullock cart race.
This is an old memory now the Bullock cart races are banned in Maharashtra both at Murud and Alibagh.

Famous for being the only fort along India's Western coast that remained undefeated despite Dutch, Maratha and English East India Company attacks, Murud-Janjira, which was occupied by the Siddis, is the local name for a fort situated on an island just off the coastal village of Murud, in the Raigad district of Maharashtra, India
This was sudden and unexpected luckily I was on the right side , it happened too fast, the old man was dragged quite a distance and in action sports such as this , such accidents are a rarity, specially at the start of the race, normally the action at the other end when the bullocks take a sharp turn while coming back , accidents do happen...
However the old man bore his injuries , he was an experienced hand..I felt sorry for him.
