Eight people were hurt Thursday morning when an SUV collided with a minibus carrying clients of Pioneer Center for Human Services near Woodstock.

Woodstock firefighters responded about 8:15 a.m. Thursday to the intersection of Franklinville and Perkins roads in Seneca Township for the two-vehicle crash, Woodstock Fire Capt. Scott Nieman said.

Eight people from the Pioneer Center bus were taken to the three Centegra hospitals - in Woodstock, Huntley and McHenry - for treatment of minor injuries and precautionary measures, according to a news release from the McHenry County Sheriff's Office. The McHenry-based nonprofit serves thousands of individuals each year - including those with intellectual and developmental disabilities and the homeless, according to its website.

A white SUV could be seen with front-end damage, and a white, unmarked passenger van was in a ditch on the south side of Perkins Road after the crash.

Franklinville Road was shut down for at least an hour from Kunde Road to Perkins Road.

A preliminary investigation found that a 2016 Ford F-450 Bus, driven by Celetra Moses, 24, of Woodstock, was traveling east on Perkins Road and had stopped at the stop sign, police said. A 52-year-old Marengo woman was driving a 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe north on Franklinville Road and did not have a stop sign.

Moses failed to yield to the Hyundai and entered the intersection, where the two vehicles collided, police said. She was cited for failing to yield at an intersection.

Police do not suspect alcohol played a role in the crash.

The Pioneer Center confirmed the crash occurred in a statement on its website Thursday.

The nonprofit's co-CEO, Sam Tenuto, said the bus was taking individuals with disabilities from one of the Pioneer Center's group homes in Woodstock to day program services in McHenry.

Tenuto said staff is required to go through an online defensive driving course and "hands-on behind-the-wheel" training.

"We have a very good driving history here at Pioneer," Tenuto said. "Based on what we've seen so far, I don't see a need to change anything."

McHenry County Sheriff's Deputy Sandra Rogers said two other crashes with injuries were recorded at the same intersection in 2012 and 2014.

Rogers said she did not know any identifying information about the individuals on the bus.

Union, Wonder Lake, Huntley, Crystal Lake, Marengo, Harvard, Nunda Rural, McHenry Township, Spring Grove and Cary fire protection districts also responded to the crash.

This is from my first roll of 120 film! Nothing special. I'm surprised this photo even came out. I went a little crazy with the multiple exposures.

I had used multiple exposure to emphasize to grab fish in its bill.

I absolutely love this painting my parents have.

Taken for this week's challenge of multiple exposure - two images combined in camera using the multiple exposure setting. I never this before.I'm not sure it really works - I will have to keep practicing. Yes, and a few days late as well.

That's right, all five of these gymnasts are the same person!

Since beginning classes in August, 80 first year medical students at the Hofstra North Shore-LIJ School of Medicine have been training as emergency medical technicians, working shifts on North Shore-LIJ ambulances and responding to 911 calls. Their training culminated recently in a Multiple Casualty Incident (MCI) conducted at the FDNY Training Center at Randall’s Island. Students were expected to provide emergency care during several different emergency exercises, which were all followed by full debriefing.

The MCI day was coordinated by the Fire Department of the City of New York at the department’s Training Academy on Randall’s Island, where more than 2,000 fire fighters and EMS personnel are trained each year.

Multiple exposure exercise. Tried multiple exposure but without much success. I guess I need a lot more power to get the light that's needed.

The THEMIS VIS camera contains 5 filters. The data from different filters can be combined in multiple ways to create a false color image. These false color images may reveal subtle variations of the surface not easily identified in a single band image. Today's false color image shows sand dunes within Proctor Crater. These dunes are composed of basaltic sand that has collected in the bottom of the crater. The topographic depression of the crater forms a sand trap that prevents the sand from escaping. Dune fields are common in the bottoms of craters on Mars and appear as dark splotches that lean up against the downwind walls of the craters. Dunes are useful for studying both the geology and meteorology of Mars. The sand forms by erosion of larger rocks, but it is unclear when and where this erosion took place on Mars or how such large volumes of sand could be formed. The dunes also indicate the local wind directions by their morphology. In this case, there are few clear slipfaces that would indicate the downwind direction. The crests of the dunes also typically run north-south in the image. This dune form indicates that there are probably two prevailing wind directions that run east and west (left to right and right to left). Proctor Crater is located in Noachis Terra and is 172km (107miles) in diameter.

The THEMIS VIS camera is capable of capturing color images of the Martian surface using five different color filters. In this mode of operation, the spatial resolution and coverage of the image must be reduced to accommodate the additional data volume produced from using multiple filters. To make a color image, three of the five filter images (each in grayscale) are selected. Each is contrast enhanced and then converted to a red, green, or blue intensity image. These three images are then combined to produce a full color, single image. Because the THEMIS color filters don't span the full range of colors seen by the human eye, a color THEMIS image does not represent true color. Also, because each single-filter image is contrast enhanced before inclusion in the three-color image, the apparent color variation of the scene is exaggerated. Nevertheless, the color variation that does appear is representative of some change in color, however subtle, in the actual scene. Note that the long edges of THEMIS color images typically contain color artifacts that do not represent surface variation.

This martian scene spans 17 x 62 kilometers (11 x 38 miles). To see where on Mars this area lies, and to download high-resolution versions of the image go to themis.asu.edu/zoom-20250730a

My first... and completely by accident... but I love it!

This tank generates waves using a multiple-paddle force-feedback system. Shown here are the seven paddles, each of which are controlled individually which allows them to absorb reflected waves of any direction by altering their motion accordingly. This allows waves to be added together and otherwise shaped.

The paddles operate rotationally, giving a more reliable way of generating deep water waves than typical piston-type wave makers.
