Bookshop scene is rapidly changing in Delhi. Now you no longer enter into a bookstore to just browse the books. You sit there and drink down coffee with the Chicken Tikka sandwich. But even that is not enough. So you also buy music albums of pop stars like Himesh Reshammiya* and Shakira. Obviously, buying the book is co-incidental!

In Atelier Versace's Catwalk look, colour has been used within the work subtly to add intrigue and perhaps connote a royal connection. Various tones of blue are incorporated within the garment as a whole to compliment and accent each other, adding to the sense of craftsmanship that comes with haute couture, but also adhering to the colour trends of the whole collection: royal jewel colours. Line is used effectively on the garment to accent the form of the body as the piece is worn on the female form, and creates the illusion of a certain silhouette. Lines have been used intuitively on the top of the bodysuit to create an aesthetically intriguing symmetrical pattern. The work appears textural, with the use of ornately beaded fabric, which reflects the light to highlight the lustre of the garment. The texture appears both rough and smooth, with the beading which could be very tactile and textural and the high lustre of panels in the garment giving a smooth effect. I think the texture depends on where the work is viewed from, as the closer you get the more you realise the depth and wealth of different textures. Versace has used shape well here to accent the human form and show it in an elongated and sleek way, with the close fitting structure of the jumpsuit and small accentuated elements such as the shoulder pads; these embody masculinity and therefore channel the empowerment that Versace perhaps aims to convey through the garment and collection as a whole.
