A chance pairing lead to some impromptu fiddling with camera and angles - whilst trying to ignore looks of bemusement from passers by!

My third annual attempt to capture a fuchsia.
This is getting closer to where I wanted to be with this subject. It's still not exactly what I wanted, but maybe I'll get another chance this year :). The colors of this flower are so vivid and the curves of the shape are so delicate that it's worth the extra effort.
As with many of my flower macros, this was shot on a light table and was illuminated from behind.
This photo is a depth stack of 6 separate images, each of which focuses at a slightly different distance. I was shooting at f/32 to get maximum depth of field, but even then, when the nearest element was in focus, the farthest was out of focus and vice versa. The solution is to shoot multiple images at different focal lengths and then composite them in a Photoshop depth stack.

Beaver Moon aka Blood Moon: I bet you have seen lots of photos of the full moon eclipse today, but I am adding mine to the collection anyway. I ventured as far as my driveway...hence some trees in the scene. It was windy and a chilly 5 C, and I was just rolling out of bed at 6 AM to haul on some warm clothes and take a look to see what I could see. The partial eclipse was underway, and the total eclipse was beginning at 6:15 AM. As the eclipse progressed the sky got brighter, the moon sank towards the horizon and was obscured by some low clouds and the trees. I took a series of photos and merged about 20 of them and then only kept the ones that didn't overlap too much. I am sure there is a better way to stack these in photoshop than having to make numerous layers and masks so one of these days I may try again.
I saw this multiple bloom of small pink blossom at the National Botanic Gardens of Wales two weeks ago.

I was fascinated by the twisting, turning multitude of branches coming from this amazing oak tree. Found in Little Wittenham Wood, South Oxfordshire
A multiple dwelling unit that looks a bit disheveled. My viewer who fancies powerlines and wires should love this one. And how did the metalwork below the second story windows get go so awry? The pink paint job also looks a bit tawdry.
Check out the hand rails on the front door stairs. Canadian innovation of V-shaped rails will not catch on internationally. And the stairs themselves ain't so great for winter and people a bit long in the tooth.
In short, I love this place and would like to see the interior.
