Over the course of her career, Hannah Holliday Stewart worked in many different mediums. Among the works that remained in her studio after her death in 2010 were ceramic, cast glass, granite, and wire artworks. Raleigh bikes print and multimedia creative from the late 1990s. Early multimedia project plans were developed by Paul Fillingham, Ian Lawrence and Mike Conwill on rolls of wallpaper, then tidied-up in Quark XPress on a Mac.
Website designed for BareFoot Multimedia: a Bali-Based web-developer company. Bau Milo designed the website to be minimal, modern and responsive to any kind of device.
This is a photograph from the 4th annual running of the Donadea 50K Ultramarathon which was held in Donadea Forest, Stapelstown, Co. Kildare, Ireland at 10:00 on February 15th 2014. The race was also an International Association of Ultrarunners Bronze Label Event and the Athletics Association of Ireland (AAI) National 50KM Championships. Over 160 participants took part in the event.

The event took place on a 5KM loop of Donadea Forest Park (read more below). The recent stormy and very wet conditions in Ireland made way for perfect running weather for the race. There was a slight breeze here and there on the route but for the most part the route was very sheltered. With so much running traffic on the course certain parts of the course became more muddy as time went on. However, this bother the participants who were expecting conditions to be much more difficult.
Congratulations to Anthony Lee of Donadea Running Club and Donadea Running Club for putting countless hours of voluntary effort into the staging of this event. The event has all the hallmarks of a professional event. There was a superb atmosphere around the loop as locals and other runners supported the runners.
Donadea Forest Park is situated in rural north Kildare and is approximately 640 acres in size. The amenities at the forest include good walking trails, a diversity of natural habitats, a walled stream, a large natural lake, and the ruins of Donadea castle. The Park is a designated National Heritage Area. The basic designation for wildlife is the Natural Heritage Area (NHA). This is an area considered important for the habitats present or which holds species of plants and animals whose habitat needs protection. It is a special event to allow the 50KM to be held in this environment.

As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!

Scouts Camporee on Omaha Beach Honors Heroes and Promotes Peace.

U.S. Scouts gathered April 24 to 27 for the 2014 Omaha Beach Camporee, in event held every three years in Normandy, France. This years Camporee was particularly special, because it was recognized as the opening event of the 70th anniversary of the D Day landings planned for June. Hundreds of Scouts from France, Britain, Poland, Switzerland, the BeNeLux and Scandinavian countries, Germany and other nations joined for a weekend of remembrance.
U.S. embassy personnel and active duty service members brought their families from facilities around Europe and North Africa. More than a few F-16 fighter jockeys directed AstroVans from the Autobahn to the AutoRoute to the D-514, while others followed the more historic route across, or below, the English Channel. Some Scouts flew from American cities over their spring break, and as usual, moms led the charge when dads couldn’t get away. All converged on a welcoming destination for Americans on the French coast.
Nearly 4,200 troops and their supporting families battled sometimes horizontal rain to re-live the history, and recognize the sacrifices of American and Allied soldiers, many close to their own age, who have fought and died fighting for freedom and peace. World War Two Veterans were honored, and sacrifices made during The Great War, Korea, Vietnam and The War on Terror were also recognized by scout leaders and other volunteers, many of whom are U.S. Veterans, the traditional backbone of scouting in America.
Campsites were pitched in the rain, the mud and the dark; pots of pasta were swamped by tent malfunctions. The elements provoked short-term tears and tantrums, and perhaps a sleepless night. But complaints were mitigated with stories of invasion boats packed with seasick assault troops, mud filled foxholes, and cold k-rations, as Scouts peered at the sogginess of this Norman spring. But, as EVERY Scout knows, only fun will be remembered of the mud and chill of this weekend.
Scout convoys raced around the invasion coast following ambitious schedules: Utah Beach, Point D’Hoc, Sainte Mere Eglise, Arromanches, the Pegasus Bridge and many museums. Scouts and Veterans were the special guests of honor at the historic and grand Notre Dame Cathedral of Bayeux where clergy, along with national and local leaders, christened a newly forged Bell of Peace and Freedom. The Cathedral was a packed and flowing sea of international scout uniforms, flags and neckerchiefs… all highlighted by sunbeams streaking through stained-glass windows.
90 year-old, World War ll Army Air Force Veteran Captain Samuel Wiley Hammersmith, B-25 pilot with 28 missions in the Pacific, mingled with Scouts throughout the weekend.
New Eagles and candidates for the Order of the Arrow were sworn in at an Omaha Beach campfire in the most meaningful of ceremonies for Scouts and their families. A French Air Force flyover, a military band and youth choir opened the Messengers of Peace multimedia presentation, bringing home the sacrifices made in the past and the promise of peace Scouting seeks to contribute worldwide. That evening, friendships were made, neckerchiefs swapped, and Paella shared at sunset on the beach, followed by a fusillade of fireworks.
Sunday’s closing ceremony was held in the drizzle at the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial. Each Troop flew its colors and laid a wreath at the base of the huge bronze statue, The Spirit of American Youth Rising from the Waves. Scouts and their families then joined hundreds of others walking the many acres of markers, looking for specific names, or just looking, at the beauty- with history, the sense of sacrifice and a touch of tears that the damp, perfect green grass of the cemetery envokes. Slowly the parking lot emptied as each American Troop and Patrol headed in every direction across Europe and the ocean… home.

Merry Christmas everyone!
So I've had my Rebel XS for a year now, learned alot, and have slowly invested into it. She has treated me well. I have kept her stock for the most part, I only bought a 35mm F1.8 lens for shooting parties and punk shows. So now I also have some longer glass, a battery pack, and external flash. I plan to exchange the flash for a Canon Speedlite 430EX. Too bad all of the little peoria railroads are shut down for the holidays. Oh well its snowing alot, so cool snow shots tomorrow.

The spine is made up of thirty-three small bones called vertebrae. The five vertebrae between the chest and the pelvis are called the lumbar vertebrae. Each vertebra has different parts.
The vertebral body, the two pedicles and the two lamina. There are also two transverse processes and one spinous process. Each vertebra has two superior articular processes and two inferior articular processes.
An inferior articular process from the vertebra above moves against the superior articular process of the vertebra below to form a facet joint. This is also known as a zygo-apophysial joint.
The adjacent vertebrae are connected by the intervertebral disc in front of the spinal canal, and the two facet joints behind.
This disc and the two facet joints help keep the two vertebrae correctly aligned, while allowing a controlled amount of movement. In this way, all the vertebra of your spine work together, supporting each other. The stability of the spine as a whole relies upon the health of the disc and the facet joints in each vertebral level.
In the centre of each vertebra is a large hole. As the vertebrae all link up together, these holes line up and form a bony tube, called the vertebral canal or the spinal canal. The spinal cord passes down the vertebral canal, and the spinal nerves leave through the intervertebral foramina to the rest of the body.
