Bought a barely used Ondu Multiformat Mk I. I think the previous owner had given up on it, as it is a pain to wind the film on. This has been solved by Ondu on later models (Mark II & III).
The camera has a very nice design and finish, and I am confident that I can make it work better. Later models have more refinements, but the photographic results will be the same (except for the rise function).

La Kinax III fou una càmera francesa de postguerra, fabricada entre el 1951 i 1956. Era una càmera de format 620 (una variació del més conegut format 120), i tenia l'interès de poder-se utilitzar amb tres tipus de imatges. Es a dir, podia fer 8 fotografies de 6x9 cm, 12 de 6x6 cm o 16 de 4.5x6 cm. Per a les imatges més petites calia posar una màscara metal·lica al interior de la càmera (que en aquesta s'han perdut). En paral·lel al les masqueres, la Kinax III comptava amb un visor força complexe, per permetre enquadrar la composició en funció del tipus de fotografia que s'estava fent servir.
Aquesta Kinax III funciona i compta amb un objectiu SOM Berthiot Flor f4.5 / 105mm, montat en un obturador IPO.

The Kinax III was a French 620 format camera, manufactured from 1951 to 1956. It could be used in three kinds of medium format sizes. That is, this camera could take 8 6x9 cm images, or 12 6x6cm images or 16 4,5x6 cm images. Except for the larger size, this changes needed internal metallic masks. It also had a quite complex viewfinder.
This one is in perfect shape, and working, although you coud only use in the 6x9 size, as it has lost the internal masks. The lens is a SOM Berthiot Flor f4.5 / 105mm in a IPO leaf shutter.
I opened the shutter on my ONDU Multiformat when I entered the Chesapeake Channel Tunnel, part of the 17+ mile long Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel. I closed the shutter shortly before exiting the tunnel. So this is about a minute long exposure with the camera sitting on my dashboard. Kodak Plus-X (expired 1999), Rodinal 1:50.

On the Eastern Shore side of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel, there’s a scenic overlook parking lot just past the toll booth. You get a scenic view of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. ONDU Pinhole Multiformat 6x12, Kodak Plus-X (expired 1999), Rodinal 1:50.
Shadow lines by the Upper Falls - Sepia
I took the 6x12 to Letchworth last Friday with three frames left on the roll. I had three specific locations in mind, all places that I had photographed many times but not with this camera. I used a standard tripod instead of the usual stubby. This is the third of the three, at the Upper Falls.
You get two versions of this one, each with the other as alternate. One of my @deviantart cohorts asked about sepia, in his own inimitable way. I promised an example in the next scanning run.
I scan black and white negatives as color positives then desaturate and invert in the Gimp. With my particular setup that give me much better tone range than if I scan as black and white negatives. I skipped the desaturation step for the second version, which leaves a sepia tint when I flip from negative to positive.
Desaturation is the first step in the process, so I did the rest of the workup for each image independently.

As I wait for my ONDU Eikan Range / Panoramikku 4x5 and 4x10 combo camera to arrive, I figured I would take out the ONDU 6x12 Multiformat pinhole, which I’ve neglected. The Belford Seafood Co-op Fish Market seemed like a good subject. Adox CMS 100 II, Rodinal 1:50.
This years entry to Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day taken with an ONDU 6x12 Multiformat pinhole camera using long expired (2008) Rollei infrared black and white film and an R72 filter, I rated the film @ 6 iso and exposed it for 4 minutes, the film was developed in Diafine 6 minutes part A, 6 minutes part B.

The Plank is finally finished-
Now featuring retaining clips for roll film holders and Polaroid backs,
and improved light traps and seals. The viewfinder housing has been slimmed down too-
However, the main difference is in the lens-
I managed to find a 75mm glass bi-convex lens in a jewelers loupe set in a tool shop, which was just oversized-
a little bit of grinding allowed it to fit in the shutter-
Lenses can be exchanged relatively easily;
the Super Angulon cells unscrew and are replaced by the single 75mm element, which is held in place by two O rings.
There is some mechanical vignetting due to the extra length,
so this one will be mostly used with the 6x9 back,
although it very nearly covers 6x12, so I'll be using that one too-
It just about covers a Fuji instant, and the print from a Polaroid,
but doesn't cover a complete 4x5 neg-

Here I wound the last frame an inch too far because of the winding difficulties. Thus the double sunset. ;-) But I like the random result anyway.

Una toma que hice con la cámara estenopeica Ondu multiformat 6x12 de “La Cámara con Alas” al edificio de la antigua Fábrica de Harinas de mi querida ciudad natal, un insigne y elegante ejemplo de arquitectura modernista industrial de principios del Siglo XX (se construyó en 1916), situado en el Paseo de la Cuba, en los aledaños del Parque Lineal, por donde, antaño, transcurría el antiguo trazado ferroviario.
Me ha resultado muy atractiva la antigua apariencia que esta cámara estenopeica procura a las fotos, conjuntando muy bien con tan clásico tema arquitectónico como el de ésta en particular. He disfrutado en magno modo la cámara; me ha encantado, y tanto ha sido así que, en adelante, he decidido darme a la práctica de la fotografía estenopeica y pienso ejercerla con regularidad :-)

This picture was taken with an Ondu multiformat 6x12 pinhole camera from “La Cámara con Alas” ("The Winged Camera"). It shows the old Flour Factory building, an outstanding and elegant example of modernist industrial architecture of the early twentieth century (it was built in 1916) in my hometown. It is located in Paseo de la Cuba, next to Linear Park, where the old railway line ran in the past.
I like very much the natural vintage look that this pinhole camera gives, matching perfectly with this classic architectural theme. I have enjoyed very much this camera and I have been delighted with it in such a way that, from now on, I have decided to immerse myself in pinhole photography and start to practice it regularly :-)

A sense of holy awe
After the morning worship service, a few Sundays ago at Rochester Christian Reformed Church. This would have been better tilted up just a bit. I'm used to the Ondu 6x6 which is wide angle both horizontally and vertically. The field width lines are laser-inscribed on the top and side of the camera; I need to remember to use the vertical guides.
I scanned this first roll at 2400 dpi, my usual for medium format. The native format Gimp xcf from the scan is 174 mb. The final jpg is 30 mb. Big.
