no editing. just a picture of a photograph on film. we don't have a scanner. that is why.

i finally managed to get a LOMO ACTION SAMPLER cam on ebay for just a bit more than 5 bucks!

bad news
my camera has some sort of error which is just not going away.
a couple of people had a look at it and tried pretty much everything without having a look on the inside of it but nobody knows what it is.
warranty expired a couple of months ago.
it makes me angry.
and either i am going to pay loads of money or i can sell it on ebay as 'damaged'.
that is what is going to happen.
i might have NO camera anymore.
one more on the list "stolen-damaged by someone else-manufacturing error".
so far i had no camera for more than 2 years.
and it has been never my fault.
anyway.
we will see.
tomorrow i have to send it to CANON.
this whole thing will cost me a fortune.
and i really don't want to think about it.
Yup, we've moved. Our new neighborhood is a fake one. Is there really a West Andersonville? Our neighbors seem to think so. To get an idea of where we are, those are Metra tracks in the background. The red building in the background is the oddly named Rogers Park Montessori School. I think they used to be in RP and then moved. Anyway, if you know where this sign is, you're within less than a block of where our new digs are.
I moved the engine shed to the station entrance area. All seemed too crowded on just one end of the layout. The shed will soon sit comfortably between the main line track and the raised platform, providing a nice backdrop to incoming trains.

We moved the loader into place with the fork touching the end of a tie to hold it in place. Set a plate where it would belong in oder to center the entire set on the ties and drove a spike in far enough to hold the plate. We moved the rail to where it belonged and then with two of us holding onto the rail the third person drove two spikes home. We affixed one end and then moved to the other end. By then we had worked out some tools to use. First we established a center line to follow. That was done by nailing a string in place down the center of the ties. Next I built two jigs or templates that would fit inside the rails at exactly the proper width. We also marked a center line on each jig so when it was in place the entire rig could be moved left or right for centering pruposes. Finally, we used a come a long attached under the rails to hold them against the jig while spikes were driven in to hold them at the proper guage.

For move and stop i wanted to create something slightly different. I wanted to find natural movement of something that might not normally catch your eye and make it look special.So for this photo i knelt on the ground under a tree on a bright, slightly windy day and wanted to capture the light shining through whilst capturing the motion of the leaves in the breeze. To achieve this i used quite a slow shutter speed ( 1/10 ) to capture the slight movement of the leaves. It took me a few tries to get the shutter speed slow enough to show the movement but without making it so blurry that it became unrecognisable and also so that it was not so overexposed that it became too bright. There was a lot of natural light so i used a low ISO setting of 160. I used an aperture of F/11 to get quite a large depth of field without making it so great that it blurs out too much of the background and takes away from the desired affect.
