A burr oak on the UM campus had been in the same spot for 250 years, but a big donor gave money for a new building...and money to move the tree to a 'better' location. These photos capture the move...up until the moment one of the huge air bladders burst in a spectacular fashion, sounding like a bomb and send parts of the bladder and dirt and stone high in the air.

Oh how I loathe moving...but this move was very necessary and I found a swell old (1926) house to settle into...the dogs are anxious for me to get their yard together so they don't have to pussyfoot around the yard art.

This was taken on the South Bank. This is the area where the youngsters show off their graffiti, BMX tricks and skateboard tricks. Get down to the South Bank on a Sat or Sunday, it's good fun. Keldon calls this part of London, "Fun London"

UP 1714 leads the local job back to Beverly Yard using the old C&NW passenger mainline through Cedar Rapids.

If you look closely toward the right-center of the picture, you can see the old C&NW bridge over the Cedar River which the train will soon make its way across.

Usually, this job gets a pair of UP EMDs, but the 1714 was the only unit on duty on this Sunday morning in June.
