A new chapter for Pataphysical Studios started today, as we moved the 'Pataphysical Slot Machine to a new home. Our poetic oracle made its maiden journey to the hilltop ranch of Drs. Canard and Figurine, after six years of art incubation in Dr. Rindbrain’s backyard.
The move went very smoothly, with a fine crew of goggled pataphysicians on hand. It took us about four hours to load, unload and set up the exhibit, on a balmy Saturday afternoon. Getting the electronics connected took about an hour — and we got it all working, with a bit of soldering and ritual incantations.
We celebrated this historic occasion with a shot of absinthe and lots of good cheer. Ubu and the Slot Machine seem to fit right in their new home: a lovely guest room with a private entrance, overlooking an idyllic garden with views of the bay.
We plan to host viewing parties and open studios every few months, so others in our community can get to experience the Slot Machine and its magical wonderboxes. Long live Ubu!

Unlike many Citroen H vans, this one can actually move under it's own power.
"The search for a suitable vehicle took many months sifting through ads in magazines, classic car sites and e-bay, resulting with trips as far as Newcastle and Kent. However it was nearer to home in Milton Keynes that the former owner found the right vehicle."
Visitors enjoyed exhibits in trucks converted to mobile museum spaces at Exploratorium's On The Move on the Embarcadero.

We acquired another Miehle V-50 yesterday and shipped off a Vandercook Universal III. The V-50 will join the one we already have, and the Univ. III will be refurbished for operation. Rob Barnes of Foils and Dies in Denver, along with wife Elizabeth, brought the Miehle down from Denver, and Loren Lew, my business partner, was operating the fork lift. The easiest way for loading-unloading the Vandercooks for short distances is to put the forks under the bed with forks extended to back panel of the support stand. Never use forks under the sheet metal cabinet of these as it will collapse, and there goes the press. The Univ III came out of a photoengraving shop in San Carlos, Calif. and the Miehle from a shop that recently closed in Sterling, Colorado.

Last friday de Melkweg in Amsterdam had a five stare line up in both of their rooms.
Squarepusher live, and as after a Sonic Warfare dubstep party with a.o. Mary Anne Hobbs Milanese and Rustie.
In the other room it was techno all night long with dj's Estroe and Anja Schneider and a live set by Move D.
