On 6-27-13, the Monongahela and Lackawanna heritage units made good time on BNSF's C&I line, with nary a stop until Oregon, where it met a hot Portland-Chicago stacker. Here it is back on the move behind White Pines State Park west of town.
This one reminds of the LMX units that used to run on this line...
A new chapter for Pataphysical Studios started today, as we moved the 'Pataphysical Slot Machine to a new home. Our poetic oracle made its maiden journey to the hilltop ranch of Drs. Canard and Figurine, after six years of art incubation in Dr. Rindbrain’s backyard.
The move went very smoothly, with a fine crew of goggled pataphysicians on hand. It took us about four hours to load, unload and set up the exhibit, on a balmy Saturday afternoon. Getting the electronics connected took about an hour — and we got it all working, with a bit of soldering and ritual incantations.
We celebrated this historic occasion with a shot of absinthe and lots of good cheer. Ubu and the Slot Machine seem to fit right in their new home: a lovely guest room with a private entrance, overlooking an idyllic garden with views of the bay.
We plan to host viewing parties and open studios every few months, so others in our community can get to experience the Slot Machine and its magical wonderboxes. Long live Ubu!

First Great Western in Derby? This rare move took place on 30th October 2011 due to East Coast hiring FGW HST set LA16 with Power Cars Class 43 Nos. 43041/43163. Making this an even more unusual move, the train was 5E43, Old Oak Common - Ferme Park. This is an 8 mile trip across London, but due to restrictions and possessions, the route for the train was Reading - Oxford - Banbury - Burton - Derby (Reverse) - Loughborough - Oakham - Peterborough - Ferme Park!
Stood beside the train, producing a very rare shot on top of a FGW HST at Derby, is Power Car No. 43049 on the rear of an EMT HST set (With Power Car No. 43089 on the front) waiting to form a service to Sheffield.
I moved the hull back which centres the "airlocks" between the bogies. It also means more of the chassis is visible at the front, which is also where the harvesty bits will go.
The discs are an idea for what the business end could look like, not sure yet.
Boy 1 and a friend moved home from school. They unloaded and spoke enthusiastically about the airfryer. They most definitely were not allowed to have an airfryer in their room on campus.

yesterday, was "Bank Transfer Day" and we toured downtown Palo Alto, stopping at all the "too big to fail" banks, closing our accounts and encouraging others to do so.

October 21, 2020 marks the beginning of Yeshiva University, Beren Campus, Stern College for Women move in day for the start of the new school year during COVID pandemic.
A power move has come to a stop at the east of Union Pacific's West Colton Yard. The conductor signals with his lantern prior to climbing aboard the engine closest to the camera to ride the point for the reverse move back into the yard.

I had been waiting for this further up the line but when it didn’t show on RTT I got in the car and went back home only to find it WAS running but an hour late. So with a quick walk back to the railway I was just in time to capture DRS 37605 with 90002 and a DVT in tow. The delayed 37 had worked up from Ilford EMUD at a busy time of day and in addition there were some service anomalies over the strike. In fact some RMT members had set up camp at Colchester station.
